San Jose Mayor (rightly) blames Donald Trump for the violence at his rally last night
“At some point Donald Trump needs to take responsibility for the irresponsible behavior of his campaign,†Mayor Sam Liccardo told the Associated Press, praising the city’s police while adding that “we’re all still holding our breath to see the outcome of this dangerous and explosive situation.â€
https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/morning-mix/wp/2016/06/03/ugly-bloody-scenes-in-san-jose-as-protesters-attack-trump-supporters-outside-rally/
The Mayor clearly understands EXACTLY who is to blame for the violence we are all seeing.

2. That excuses the people actually doing the violence.
Violence isn't a valid response to speech you don't like.
The left always resorts to violence and slaughter.

7. Chump's supporters are equally to blame
They didn't have to follow Chump's orders to assault protesters. They chose to do so on their own.
They're just as guilty as Chump, who should faces criminal charges of incitement to violence.
Criminalize free speech,another leftist norm.

9. If Trump hadn't riled up 60 percent of the nation
That whole ugly episode wouldn't have happened.
He was going on about that awful Mexican federal judge again today.
You sow the wind you reap the whirlwind.
Say what we don`t like and you should expect us to attack.

He has a history that it would be foolish to overlook.
Mongrels never fail to be idiots.

Donald Trump is not the victim: The right’s laughable spin as violence breaks out in San Jose
Donald Trump is not the victim: The right’s laughable spin as violence breaks out in San Jose
Lot of good points in here.
This is all very predictable. The increasing levels of violence and protests at Donald Trump’s rallies fit perfectly with Right-wing delusions about how “real America†is under “siege†by people of color, non-white immigrants, “liberals,†“Muslims,†gays and lesbians, as well as young people—the latter being a group who have supposedly been stolen away and brainwashed by the bogeyman of “political correctness.â€
These worries and panics are not new. A sense of white victimhood and paranoia has been a feature of movement conservatism (and the broader American right-wing) since at least the 1950s.
However, what is especially problematic, and perhaps even novel in a moment when Donald Trump, a reality TV show carnival barker professional wrestler wannabe and proto-fascist has taken control of one of the United States’ two ruling political parties, is how the corporate news media has largely enabled his ascendance.
and
In a functioning democracy, political violence should almost always be condemned. However, we must not forget that Donald Trump and his supporters are on the wrong side of history.
Trump is a political arsonist. He and his supporters have no moral high ground upon which to stand as they complain about being burned by the fires that they themselves have set in San Jose and elsewhere.
Thrown eggs are not bullets. Despite what Fox News and the right-wing media will suggest in the days and weeks to come, Donald Trump and his supporters are neither victims nor martyrs. They are bullies who delight in taunting the weak and the vulnerable. And like almost all bullies they summon up crocodile tears of victimhood and pain when someone is brave enough to confront them.
As much as I dislike and distrust Trump, this is the mindset we are up against.
Given the chance does anyone doubt it would be Stalin or Mao all over again?

DUmmies, if you think for one hot second that Trump is not keeping a list of names/organizations that are doing this, then you are more stupid than I thought.

Remember when Trump said "Get in their faces!" or when he said "Punch back twice as hard!"?
Oh that's right it was Obama.
So if I understand this correctly, the next time I am offended by the leftist I get to be physical with them? I would love that.

yep. It will be interesting when sometime after January 20, 2107 the city of San jose needs federal funding for one of the mayor's liberal pet projects and he goes to Washington DC with hat in hand looking for a handout...

Press Virginia will probably be tombstoned for her comments.
Typical blame- shifting, and avoiding the fact that the leftists were the first ones to get violent (As they usually are).

Oh, and of course, no DU thread involving leftist protesters getting violent would be complete without one of the DUmmies claiming without any proof that the violent protesters MUST have been agent provocateurs hired to make the movement look bad.

While it is possible that there is, for example, a wished-for extension of the light rail boondoggle (all "mass transit" in the Santa Clara Valley is a 90% subsidized boondoggle!), the more likely reason a Mayor of San Jose would go to DC hat in hand would be the under-funded trainwreck-in-progress pension system.
That said, of course the anti-Trump violence is Trump's fault! He exists!
Less sarcastically, crap like the anti-Trump violence "here" in San Jose (I live in an unincorporated area that is surrounded by San Jose) just might bring CA into play, as even some Ds are repulsed by it.

A guy walking away being followed by ~5-10 "protesters" and one comes up from behind and throws a hay maker of a sucker punch. Pretty disgusting thing to see happen to ANYONE.

17. Violence to suppress political speech is just as bad when it is leftist brownshirtism.
The worst of it is that these people are going to throw support to Trump. Americans don't like this sort of thing.
Who are those who are acting like fascists?

Assuming those low-post-count DU-members aren't moles/trolls, maybe a few DU-members have an inkling of the significant possibility that Libs'/Progs' violent "protest" tactics will backfire, badly. That said, they may not last long there in DULand.
