Does anybody know

Does anybody know why someone might blow positive on a breathalyzer when they've had nothing to drink?

Nyquil?

2. Hand sanitizer

How about hand sanitizer? Do you know if it can be absorbed through smoking a cigar?

4. Yes, mouthwash will do that, for several minutes

Scope is 8% alcohol. Listerine is 21%.

5. Eating a couple or six rum balls could do it, depending on the recipe. Why do you ask?

6. Rehab

My son is in rehab, he failed the breathalyzer. Alcohol isn't his problem. He swears he didn't drink anything. He had been using hand sanitizer a lot due to working in a dirty warehouse. So was wondering if the sanitizer was absorbed through the cigars and created a false positive.

7. Ok, then I'd say he was probably drinking and making excuses. That sounds far fetched.

^^^yeah, that.

Some alcoholics have been known to drink the hand sanitizer.

They make non-alcoholic mouthwash and toothpaste for a reason.

Some of those links on that discussion are almost laughable from personal experience.  If an officer has administered a breathalyzer, he's probably already done some other tests (ie, walk a line, touch your nose, etc.) that will support the breathalyzer reading.

I do about 30-40 breathalyzers a night when I'm working.  I've heard the low carb diet thing in the past, and can emphatically say, that is 100% nonsense.  I've lived pretty low carb (usually between 30-40 a day, but there's days I don't hit 20)...  for about 3-4yrs.   I heard this rumor a long time ago, and since I regularly have access to a breathalyzer... I breathalyzed myself at random times, every night for two weeks...  Never, ever got a reading.

If you're breathing through a tube into the device, the odds of anything in the environment (ie, hand sanitizer, etc.) causing a positive reading, are almost zero.  I have heard of of hypoglycemics can blow numbers sometimes when they have not been drinking... but I've never ran into it, and have never had anyone who blew numbers, claim it was because they were hypoglycemic.

Somewhat related... I was visiting the local Walgreens for some late-night junk food and goodies.  A dumbshit stoner was haranguing the poor girl who worked there on whether Golden Seal or Pilgrim's Pride was better when trying to beat a drug test.

Hand sanitizer absorbed through the cigars? In a warehouse? He is smoking cigars in a warehouse? How much alcohol in hand sanitizer could possibly be absorbed into a cigar, smoked by Jr., and wind up in the breath sample?

If the guy works in a warehouse why doesn't he just wear gloves?

Alcohol may or may not be his problem but I'm not sure about Dummy notawinger.

Flammable alcohol gel on a lit cigar.

A breathalyzer test would be the least of the DUmmy loinfruit's problems.

I just don't understand the hand sanitizer/cigar connection at all.  And there is no smoking in a warehouse.  This is like a classic DUmmie thread.  Bad behavior, lying, excuses.

I always heard that golden seal or some other GNC crap would assist one in passing a pee test.

That primitive's OP is like reading an episode of Cops.

So many excuses. "No officer, I have no idea how that crack pipe got into my pocket. Its not mine.Neither is that bag of weed between my buttcheeks.".

There simply has to be another reason. Little Billy would never lie to me.  And then to be stupid enough to post it for the world to see.

The simplest explanation is usually the correct one?

I have read untreated diabetes does something... can't remember now... seems to me that you smell like alcohol? Dunno about blowing into the tube.

Hand sanitizer? BWAHAHAHAHAHA!!! Dummie got smashed, got busted and is looking for an out.
