Meatloaf.
.
Salad.

Man, what has crawled up the NJCher primitive's craw? And why no pictures of the cauliflower soup?

3. Strip steak with sauteed onions.
Green beans.
I could handle this one. It's not very often you see something normal in here that doesn't also qualify as a gut bomb.

4. veggie burgers ...
... and napa slaw.
We tried a new kind of burger this time. They were good.
I have a suggestion for your next kind of burger: one made from actual meat.

6. I don't know if this brand is available outside the Chicago area ...
... but it's Upton's Naturals. They mostly make variously flavored seitan. The burgers are a new product.
For those of you that have never experienced the tragedy that is a "veggie" burger, wheat burgers like this are what I always had. Sometimes I'd get one with oats in them. If you put a clothespin on your nose and doused the "burger" in ketchup and mustard, they almost qualified as tasting like food.

The steak is well-done. So are the green beans. :-)

It could be worse. They might try to sneak you this: http://veggieconverter.com/whole-food-vegan-steak-substitute-recipe/
Any recipe that starts out like this is highly suspect: Makes about 12 “steak stripsâ€

Well, tonight I'm having pierogies (standard hunky fare) stuffed with cheddar cheese mashed potatoes. A side of an ear of corn and I'm good to go.

For some reason, that link takes me to a recipe for "Pear and Squash Bruschetta".
Also, the author photo is enough evidence that vegetarianism is unhealthy.

WTF is "napa slaw"? I thought napa was a car parts place. Now they sell slaw? :rotf:
OK I googled it. Apparently it is some kind of slaw. Never heard of it. Round these parts there are two kinds of slaw. Homemade and store made. I like the homemade.

7. Homemade pizza
Whole wheat pita bread spread with basil pesto. Topped with fresh roma tomatoes, thinly sliced onions, a pinch of oregano, and romano and mozzarella cheese. I didn't have any black olives. Strawberry yogurt for dessert.
Pita bread is not pizza crust. It's a cracker once you get it through the oven.

Hell, I put sauce, pepperoni and cheese on a toasted bagel and it makes a better pizza.

Dough is easy. Flour, water, salt, sugar, and yeast. Mix it in a bowl and ignore it for a few hours.

What's for Dinner, Thurs., May 26,2016
Pasta with lamb-tomato sauce. Has mint over it.
Zucchini rounds dipped in panko and sauteed. Has horseradish-sour cream sauce to go with.
Doesn't that seem like a weird combination? Horseradish on the side to go with Italian?
Then we get a picture:
