"Insinuates" might be better because of its negative shading, but I still think it's a proper usage of "intimate".

Well now, I knew that stuff, but objected because I didn't think the primitive did, and so figured the primitive misspelled.

I can't recall it ever being used in that way in casual conversation... of course around these parts that does not mean much... so I looked it up. When dealing with dummies one never knows. For all I know the dummie wants to be intimate with Bernie and made a Freudian slip. :rotf:
