Oh my.
A little change of pace, here.

I just bought a new computer chair from Office Depot.
I bought the last one I had from Amazon and it didn't last very long. I'm a big guy and the chair was supposed to be rated at 350 pounds, but it only ended up lasting about six months before my big ass broke it down and I'm way under 350 now days.
I decided it would be best this time to go to an actual store where I could check these things out in person. I got a really nice chair there rated at 400 pounds on clearance. I saved $100 on it. It ended up being $289. Then I did something that I will consider to be evidence of my growing enlightened state of mind. They offered to put the thing together for me for $12. The last two I put together caused much sweating, cramping of the hands, and other sore muscles. I considered $12 a hell of a deal.
So now I am sitting in my new, cushy chair without a drop of sweat lost and an ounce of energy spent beyond driving out to the store and bringing the chair in the house. This one should last a while.
New thread, just underway.

Fascinating.

Just a few months ago he was filing for bankruptcy.

Jeebus. How difficult is it to put an office chair together? Good ones come with instructions, the hardware and usually an Allen Wrench if it's required.

:hammer: OMG, How does he get out of bed in the morning? :hammer: And dress himself? :hammer: And feed himself? :hammer: I can't imagine the strain and toil it must be for him to walk out to his car so he can drive to ...! :hammer:

Oh that POOR chair!!

His new job is unloading 53-foot trailers at a trucking company, but the chair is a huge task.
The purpose of this post is to brag about being able to afford a chair, and even the extra twelve bucks for assembly.
The twelve bucks is a nice touch, equivalent to how poor stupid Pam would have her counterfeit designer purse in the background.

I am more and more certain that Junior Samples is just a loon in an adult care facility.

I guess it's possible to set the bar lower, but I'm not sure how. No doubt if it can be done, Tobin will find a way.

I'm sure the store saw his fat ass and thought "we got this rube". Probably sold him the chair at full price and just grabbed a sign off a higher priced chair and told him it was $100 off.... just for him! Then they took the boxed chair in the back and brought out the chair the manager used in the back office and told him it was all put together and ready to go!
Manager got a new chair, Tubbs got a used one, crew got some micky D's for lunch on Tubbs and everybody is happy.

The $12.00 has me thinking a little off the subject. But anyway, I have a small 16' aluminum boat with a 50 HP outboard. Nothing fancy, basically a utility boat. I decided that before I start the season I would change the water pump impeller, I have had this boat 3 years and never changed it so it was time.
I actually purchased the new impeller and associated stuff last summer and tried to disassemble the part of the motor but gave up because I couldn't get the shift linkage to separate. So with the upcoming season I tried everything to get this thing off, penetrating oil, PB Blaster, blow torch, you name it. Finally it started to move but alas I broke the horizontal shaft and the vertical shaft all in one smart move. I also discovered that the impeller I've had since last summer is the wrong one.
OK, sorry for taking so long but I ordered new parts and all together it cost $150.00 (including the new water pump overhaul kit). In a local shop I have since found out that the cost is $300.00 if all goes well and you have to leave the boat there for a few days. So I guess what I'm trying to say is personally I wouldn't pay $12.00 to have a chair assembled because for the price of having two chairs assembled, you can buy a respectable bottle of bourbon which I can enjoy while putting the chair together. I believe in paying myself to perform simple jobs.

Most places will simply give you the already assembled chair at no extra charge if you ask nicely.

Dude probably has one of those heavy-duty crappers in the house too. You don't want to be sitting on one of those when it gives up the ghost.

Yes and it cost $15.50 + tax to have that bad boy assembled. :-)

I mean, sweating and sore muscles .... putting together a .....chair? :gay:

:o :thatsright: Where do you defectives come up with this shit?

The real reason the DUmbass paid for assembly? He just doesn't have the smarts to put it together by himself.

I can't fathom how somebody can work as a yard dog and do other similar duties, and yet maintain that he gets sore muscles from putting together a chair.

He's probably playing The Sims or another computer game, to do the yard work . . . :whistling:
