Virginia Gov. Terry McAuliffe to restore voting rights of more than 200,000 convicted felons

Source: AP

RICHMOND, Va. (AP) — More than 200,000 convicted felons will be able to cast ballots in the swing state of Virginia in November's election under a sweeping executive order by Democratic Gov. Terry McAuliffe announced Friday that restores their rights to vote and run for office.

The Democrat said his actions would help undo Virginia's long history of trying to suppress the black vote.

"Too often in both our distant and recent history, politicians have used their authority to restrict people's ability to participate in our democracy," McAuliffe said in a statement. "Today we are reversing that disturbing trend and restoring the rights of more than 200,000 of our fellow Virginians, who work, raise families and pay taxes in every corner of our Commonwealth."

McAuliffe said he is certain he has the legal authority for this massive extension of voting rights after consulting with legal and constitutional experts, including Virginia Attorney General Mark Herring.

Cankles is going to need every vote she can get.  Former DNC chairman and Clinton toady Terry McAuliffe is doing his part to deliver a huge bunch of dependable democrat voters--convicted felons.

Feeling proud, Democrats?

1. awesome! this issue is a pet peeve of mine. government shouldn't be able to take away voting rights.

it's a recipe for bad government when the government can choose its voters.

There you have it--awesome.

Dead victims will never vote again. But. Their murderers can now vote in all future elections.

So let me see if I understand this dumbass gov's logic here.

1. History of suppressing the black vote so we have to restore voting rights
2. Person commits a felony crime (race irrelevant)
3. Person gets caught (race irrelevant)
4. Person gets tried or pleas out (race irrelevant) resulting in ...
5. Person gets a felony conviction on their record. (race irrelevant)

How in the freaking world does 2 thru 5 correlate to 1? Will some dummie please come over here and 'splain it to me?

Between this and illegal immigration amnesty, the Democrats are busy padding their voter rolls for the next election.

So, does that mean Terry McAuliffe is saying being a felon is part of being black?
