Oh my.

It's so nice, Big Mo being social again.  For the longest time, she wasn't.

1. 1/2 a dozen is a good thing.

I don't know where you live, but I have advice. The cheapest is not always the best unless you know something special about them. Two reputable companies that come close in numbers is a good starting point. Work back from that and find ways to save money with the two, or maybe use a company that's not as well established, but also has a good rep, but is thousands lower...hundreds...depends on the job.

The lowest bid usually means not too good.

2. that is something i have learned the hard way many times in many things.

this is going to be a rental property, so i want to do a solid job. i am already in my 60's, so i dont want to be re-doing things in 10 years.

i am farming out the exterior, and have a couple partners in the project that will do the interior. we are practicing up to do a couple of flips. if we can do this quickly enough, we will get another and sell it.

i have one guy coming who just did a roof across the street. he comes highly recommended. i asked for a couple quotes online from some window companies and the "local contractor" turns out to be sears and home despot. thinking they arent gonna be on the top of the list.

And either lazy, retarded or crippled for not doing the work yourself.  Since you don't work, you should do it yourself and/or choke a few chickens to get it done with a profit.

The deal about Big Mo is that while she looks okay, she's kind of a wreck.

She's one of these people who always lived with the attitude, "I can do whatever I want to do, and if there's any bad consequences, medical science and pharmaceuticals can take care of them."

I'm sure she's contributed substantially to the balance sheets of Big Pharma, probably mostly through her ex-husband's medical insurance.

Like many partaking a diet heavy in pharmaceuticals, she inevitably developed what I call "pharmaceutical bloat."

I'm not a medical professional or anything like that, but it's been my life-long observation--I had many in the family with Big Mo's attitude--that overuse of drugs cause what seems alarmingly much like dropsy.  Maybe it is dropsy; I dunno.

I suspect that if one pricks any of these people with a pin, they'll gush out water.  If one's in the vicinity of Big Mo if that's ever done, one'll get a real drenching.

Nearly everybody knows all about Big Mo, but we've got a few new people here, and maybe they'd like to catch a glimpse:

There's nothing new there, but for those who've been there already, it might be a good memory refresher.

While I may not have enough posts to see it, I think I have seen it before.  In fact, my daily trips to the chicken coop are enough to activate my sense of smell for such a voodoo queen such as big mo.  She could at least get one of those "springy" hand exercise thingy things to generate a grip that would be profitable.

How's she gonna have time to flip houses and run her farm?
She shown photos of walking around barefoot in chicken shit and broken glass, and now she's going to track it into her flip houses?

She can't do the work herself because as it's been noted before, she suffers from nearly every known ailment, including prostate trouble.

This would help--although your getting 600 more posts would help even more (hint, hint  :-)):

I think it's a good read, and even a good re-read.

I wrote it, so of course I'm biased, but I'll bet others would agree; it's worth a re-read.

Carl's link on the first page of comments on that thread is well worth the going to.  The writer mentioned us in one of his articles, but I dunno if it's this one.
