BREAKING: At least one person was killed and several others were injured after two explosions at Brussels Airport Tuesday morning.
A police official told the Associated Press that "perhaps there are several more" dead in the airport's departure hall.
Airport spokesman Anke Fransen confirmed that the blasts occurred shortly after 8 a.m. local time (3 a.m. EST). Reuters, citing the Belga news agency, reported that shots were fired and shouting in Arabic was heard before the explosions.
The explosions hit at the middle of the busiest time at the airport, which serves the city that is the capital of the 28-nation European Union. NATO is also headquartered in the region.
Authorities did not immediately confirm that the explosions were a terror attack. However, Belgium's interior minister announced that the terror threat was being raised to its maximum level.
Brussels Airport tweeted that all flights into and out of the airport had been canceled and warned people to avoid the area.
Images showed smoke rising from the terminal building and ceiling tiles scattered on the floor. A member of Belgium's parliament, whose wife was at the airport, told Belga that the wounded were struck by flying glass and tiles.
Amateur video shown on France's i-Tele television showed passengers including a child running with a backpack dashing out of the terminal different directions as they tugged luggage, Another image showed a security officer patrolling inside a hall with blasted paneling and what appears to be ceiling insulation covering the floor.
"I was in the duty free [shop] ... and I heard two very, very loud explosions," Sky News reporter Alex Rossi told the broadcaster. "I could feel the building move. There was also dust and smoke as well.
"I went towards where the explosion came from and there were people coming out looking very dazed and shocked."
The explosions occurred four days days after Salah Abdeslam, the prime suspect in the Paris attacks, was arrested in Brussels.

Two Metro stations were hit. 10 dead from one of the trains.

One of the pics I saw...looks like the explosion happened in a subway car. Which means it was packed with rush hour commuters.
Yet another reason why public transportation is a crap way to depend on to get around LOL!

Said car was supposedly at the front of the train. FNC had a video shot from a train survivor who was walking on the tracks with two other people in front of the camera, looking for a way to get out of the tunnel.

EuroLanders didn't take terrorists seriously and then let them flood in, thinly disguised as "refugees". They thought it was a Yankee problem (much as Mexico thought drug-running and still think people-smuggling is a Gringo problem; the Mexican people have paid dearly for that first error of judgment, and may yet find Muslim terrorists are as or more BA than the drug lords), until the Charlie Hebdo and soccer stadium massacres. Hopefully EuroLanders realized, even before this, that cleaning out the mess they allowed to accumulate will be a bigger and bloodier chore than just rounding up those few shooters. And hopefully EuroLanders remember that placating bullies results in more and worse bullying.

Quantity of Explosive Found in Belgium Surprises Officials
http://www.nytimes.com/2016/03/24/world/europe/brussels-explosives-tatp.html
The announcement by the Belgian authorities that they had confiscated more than 30 pounds of the explosive TATP from a dwelling used by the attackers in Brussels was, in some ways, an expected development. But it contained one detail that bomb-disposal technicians and security officials regarded with surprise: the quantity of the particular explosive involved.
TATP, also known as triacetone triperoxide, is a white, crystalline explosive also used in the attacks in Paris in November, though it caused few casualties compared with the terrorists’ assault rifles. Highly unstable and sensitive to shock, friction and heat, it breaks down quickly in air. And while it can be made with basic chemistry skills and relatively simple equipment, it is more dangerous and tedious to manufacture than a commonly used fertilizer-based explosive, ammonium nitrate, which an American official, citing intelligence shared by Belgium, said the attackers had also used.
Unlike ammonium nitrate, TATP is typically seen in small quantities, not in the tens of pounds. One American official who had reviewed the intelligence related to the bombs in France and the newer intelligence from Belgium said the recovery of more than 30 pounds indicated an increased capacity since the Paris attacks. And that figure did not include any explosive actually used in the bombs that killed 31 people on Tuesday.
Looks like they are planning bigger attacks.

Shocking video shows hijab-wearing woman TEARING UP Israeli flag at Brussels memorial to the dead
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3508394/Hijab-wearing-woman-caught-camera-TEARING-Israeli-flag-Brussels-memorial-dead.html
This is the shocking moment a woman removes an Israeli flag from a Brussels memorial and rips it up, before hiding the pieces away underneath another flag.
A French-language station captured the footage at the shrine set up at Brussels' Place de la Bourse.
During the clip, which is just over one minute long, a woman wearing a hijab, a brown coat and a scarf picks up a Palestinian flag from the candle-lit vigil and takes it over to an Israeli flag.
How disrespectful! That is vandalism! No?

US announces ISIS paymaster killed as France, Belgium dismantle terror cell
http://www.foxnews.com/world/2016/03/25/explosions-gunfire-heard-as-belgian-police-mount-fresh-raids-in-brussels.html?intcmp=hpcmt
The West struck back hard against ISIS in the wake of the Brussels terror attacks, with the U.S. announcing it took out the Islamist group’s paymaster in a raid in Syria even as authorities in Belgium and France continued to roll up the cell behind this week’s carnage as well as the deadly November attacks in Paris.
French police on Thursday nabbed a convicted terrorist linked to the Paris attacks and believed to be close to launching a new attack, and authorities in Brussels said information from that bust led to raids and arrests in Belgium. The flurry of activity in the closely-tied European nations strengthened suspicions one ISIS-directed cell was responsible for attacks that rocked their capitals.
Good!
