Title: Is John Kasich Delusional?
Post by: thundley4 on March 20, 2016, 01:26:40 PM
He claims he is staying in the race because he can win the nomination and then win the general election against Hillary. He has won only one state, his home state of Ohio.

His only real supporters are liberal republicans and anti-conservative republicans which are really the same thing.

His plan is to keep Trump or Cruz from winning 1237 delegates and cause a brokered convention where the GOPe backs him as the GOP candidate.

That will guarantee a Hillary Clinton presidency, because most Trump voters and more than a few Cruz voters will say **** it.

Dunno ... maybe he thinks the nomination will be up for grabs going into the convention, and he could emerge from it the nominee?

That's his hope, but he is pro-amnesty. He has no chance of winning the general election, but he thinks he does.

He must also think that he's the Establishment guy, even though more of the Establishment types are lining up behind Ted Cruz.

Ted Cruz made an interesting observation; "Kasich secretly hopes Trump wins so Kasich can be his vice president".   :whistling:

That may be his unspoken wish, but I was going by what he has said.

Kasich isn't stupid.  If he's staying in the race, it's because the establishment wants him there to take electoral votes from Trump and Cruz.  In truth, they do not want either of them.  They spent over $150 million trying to get Jeb Bush elected so he could lose to Hillary and they could go on with their power games.  The fact is, a strong president doesn't require super majorities in the House and Senate, but a Clinton presidency would.  They don't give a damn about the country, they only care about themselves.  A Hillary election assures a Republican landslide in 2018 in the House and Senate.

So? It's not like they've done a damn thing with the last two majorities we gave to them. If they had done something, maybe they wouldn't be fretting over how to shut down Trump. They made their bed.

That is too late. Hillary will have packed the Supreme court with young leftist justices and the damage can't be undone.

The current GOP leadership shares the blame with Obama, in fact, I'd say they shoulder more of it than Obama.

I don't think any of them are concerned for the country.  They are sheltered by by the wealth they get by working against the interests of the people who elected them.  To them, politics is just their business and the only consideration is their own self-interest.  I don't think Republicans in Washington see the Obama as any better or worse than any other.  If they did, they would have de-funded it.  We need to primary them all and start fresh.  We can't afford to add a single Democrat, but surely there has to be Republicans out there with a spine who will actually stand FOR something.
