Title: Obama to nominate Merrick Garland to Supreme Court

President Obama will name federal appeals judge Merrick Garland as his pick to succeed Antonin Scalia on the U.S. Supreme Court, Fox News has learned, in a move that sets up a showdown with Republicans who have vowed to block the choice.

Obama is scheduled to formally announce the choice of Garland, 63, the chief justice of the Washington DC Court of Appeals, in a Rose Garden ceremony Wednesday.

Obama said earlier Wednesday that it was both his “constitutional duty to nominate a justice and one of the most important decisions that I – or any president – will make.”

He added, “I’m doing my job. I hope that our senators will do their jobs, and move quickly to consider my nominee.”

One of Garland's mentors, according to a July 6, 1995 Los Angeles Times article, was then-Deputy Attorney General Jamie Gorelick.  :thatsright:

Obama, that lying sack of shit is trying to paint this guy as a moderate. When has Obama ever tried to hire or appoint someone who didn't go full leftard?

He's also pro EPA which doesn't bode well for some upcoming rulings about recent EPA "laws" they sent out.
