On trump and his chances to win the election, the whole enchilada
I have said it in the past that I do not discount it. I know some folks are. Family asked today about that. Some folks cannot believe it. The dynamics, violence, anger and base anger (on both sides actually) are such that I cannot predict this election. This cycle is not just rather unpredictable, but the US, in my opinion, is very unstable politically.
It is what it is. But I am one of those few media people who took Trump seriously and have written extensively of the danger he posses from very early on. I am not a prophet, I do not have a glass ball, nor did I ask my billiard ball. I just happen to see the parallels of the rise of authoritarian governments in Europe in the 1930s. We avoided that by a whisker, (becuase FDR was elected).
So no, I do not discount it. And those who do, with all due respect, you might be for the kind of surprise that you never expected.
Here.. a full analysis piece on this, INCLUDING MEXICAN reaction. This is now at the level of the cabinet

6. Neither do I, same shit was said about Hitler

11. I wish it was
Mom had surgery, so taken the time to talk to people in Mexico City... and he is scary to people from all social classes. It is eerie

13. I know

16. At this point I do not discount a thing and people discounted Hitler too

21. There are reasons why the Rs are in panic mode ok, let's clarify, the business faction of the Republican party.
I understand fully what is happening and the roots for this are at least in 2000... the tea party was the first clear symptom, but I have spoken of the fall of the GOP since the Bush years.
History has echoes, people are angry and scared, the economy sucks for regular folks. Many who are voting for him have never, ever voted before. People should be rather ahem concerned.

17. True, but he as been thinking of running since 1988
IMO he was waiting for a good moment as it were.

20. Hitler was trolling too I suppose then
and that is how seriously he should be taken. He is not a troll. He is a fascist. There, I said it.
nadinbrzezinski (146,584 posts)
25. Yup, the hitler thing is such a loser that people are seeing this OUTSIDE our borders... because I suppose they paid attention in history class. He is a fascist, wake up and smell the coffee. I am as serious as a heart attack. This is a fork, We either remain a pretend democracy, or we openly become a fascist government. One that is now starting to be seen as a danger to world peace.

31. Oh we will look back fondly at Junior

26. Trust me you do not have to convince me
though he is more like Mussolini, but that is spitting hairs at this point,
nadinbrzezinski (146,584 posts)
27. You welcome
nadinbrzezinski (146,584 posts)
33. I highly recommend you look up how Hitler got to power... because he was elected. And to say that less than 50 percent wants that, many of the voters are first time voters who have never voted before. That is one of the reasons why I cannot predict this election and why this cycle is so... strange.
nadinbrzezinski (146,584 posts)
40. Well. I willl leave you with this happy thought
You nderestimate this at your peril. He has attracted new voters. That alone should concern you
nadinbrzezinski (146,584 posts)
39. I am but surprised
nadinbrzezinski (146,584 posts)
42. Nope, in this scenario Bernie and those resisting are
The groups that tried to prevent the rise of Hitler
Though if you understand US policies, Bernie has ideas that were in the norm of US politics starting with FDR

gNads forgot to take her "coherence" pill.

I've never heard of divination by billiard ball. Did Minnesota Fats do that between tournaments? For that matter, did Minnesota Fats try to use nads as a billiard ball?

Just a guess, but the linguistically challenged oblate spheroid may be referring to the Magic Eight Ball.

I thought of that toy, but decided that the (also) culturally deprived nads should know that the Magic Eight Ball was too large and had a flatted side that made it unsuitable for billiards.

Given her general ignorance, she probably goes to the local billiard hall and quacks questions at a random 6-ball.

But it would be easy to "spot" the 8 ball after a scratch. It would stay where you put it.
-
Hey now. You guys are just spitting hairs on the billiard ball thing.
-
why am I not surprised that nads would have so many balls?

The only scratching I want to mentally associate with parrot-killer nads would be due to whatever newly homeless fleas or mites normally afflict parrots.

Maybe she has a whole stash of them that she keeps right next to her spit hair collection.

How about your Ouija Board?
There's no one more authoritarian and Nazi acting than the political left.

I wouldn't think Nads would use an ouija board. My guess is that she consults the "peanut butter", in the same way a person would read tea leaves. After a blob of peanut butter gets squashed around under hoof all day, she whips it out and consults the "peanut butter".
