My cousin just killed himself with the gun he owned for 'home protection'.
He had that handgun for over a decade and tbe only time he felt the need to use it was to fight off his own demons.
Sounds like he was a responsible gun owner to me. Not sure why DUmmies brag about killing babies but curse guns when they kill themselves. (http://www.democraticunderground.com/10027671495)

It appears that Randy's cousin 'self-aborted.' :whistling: :fuelfire:

Does RSF think his cousin was so insufficiently creative that, lacking a gun, he couldn't obtain and ingest a lethal dose of some prescription or street drug?

A person who is grieving does not bother to state the manner of death.

19. This is why I get mad..
..when gun nuts try to point out that the majority of our annual gun deaths are suicides instead of homicides.
Oh, don't suicides matter?!
'Well, if someone wants to kill themselves, they'll find a way.'
No, actually, if you swallow a bottle of sleeping pills, ingest poison, cut your wrists, or even hang yourself, there's always a small chance someone finds you in time and you'll survive the suicide attempt. Then maybe you can get the help you need to stop feeling suicidal.
Meanwhile, a suicide attempt with a gun is almost always successful. There are no second chances.
First of all, when trying to overdose you might not be successful if someone finds you and your rushed to the emergency room and survive but have enough brain damage (I know I know) or other physical damage that your life is much worse than before.
Second point, I have a friend who went on an EMS call that was a suicide attempt, shotgun to the head. Notice I said attempt, not successful. Imagine how happy the patient is now that he doesn't have: 1) a face, 2) hearing, 3) sight and 4) half of his brain
I sent out a bunch of healing vibes when I heard about that one.

If someone has gone so far over the edge that they are actually committing suicide, the means isn't the problem.

How do we know this really happened?

Keep the lie vague, that way it can't be fact checked. Knowing the guy was a relative of a DUmmie, it was probably suicide by cop.

Whether :bouncy: or real, there's value and  in pointing out the DU OPer's fallacy.
It says sad and disgusting things about those DU members' character that one of their first impulses when faced with a family tragedy is to try to score a few political points and some DU-Cred from it.
