Any foreign countries out there that don't tax disability income from the US government?

I'm receiving three forms of disability retirement from the federal government of our country and I've been thinking off and on about living abroad for years now. However, the biggest obstacle is that I believe most nations would tax my disability income that I receive from the US government (which isn't taxed here in the US).

Anyone aware of any nations that wouldn't tax my disability income? I'm mostly interested in living in Europe and maybe Australia / New Zealand.

The three incomes I receive are SSDI, disability from the VA (I'm 100% service connected disabled), and disability from FERS (federal employee retirement system disability).

edit to add that I'm not necessarily stuck on countries that speak primarily English. I lived in Europe for 4+ years and never had a problem getting along in any nation I visited despite the fact that I didn't speak their native language.

Thanks for any thoughts!

Why would they want him there? Some backstory on Victor:

OK. He is 100 percent disabled from the military and from FERS?  So I take it to mean he actually worked after he was disabled from the military? I am assuming that the military would not have taken him if he worked and was disabled.

I don't think there are any taxes in Antarctica. The penguins and seals should be tasty.

Like the big guy it's taking them a little longer to die than originally anticipated.

My dad eventually was labeled as 100% disabled long after he left the military and worked as an automotive mechanic. In many cases you have to argue your case for disability with the military and it can take a long time (20 years for my dad).

And he's too lazy and stupid to do his own research.  Also, he never came back to his thread.

1. I think the way you get around this is not to bring your income to the country where you are living.

Keep your bank account in the US. Have your checks deposited there. Get yourself a credit card with no international transaction fees
and use it to access your funds. Use a friend or relative's address for your US address.

I know Americans who live on Bonaire most of the year who do this.

I suspect most countries will require you to have a checking account, but if you have sufficient funds that aren't "income" you can stash
some money there that way.

Seems legit.  Why not try it, victor?

OK.  I can understand that.  Dummie worked for the civil fed government though. Dummie said he got disability from them too. So I am guessing here that once the military classified him as disabled the fed civil government said he was disabled as well?

Dummies lie.  There is not a word comes out of their mouth that I believe is the reason I called BS on his story.

Not if he retired from the Military, got hired by the Feds, went back and got the VA to, eventually, rate him as 100% disabled and then disabled out of FCS.

There are lots of complete scumbag lawyers who are chomping at the bit to take government disability claims.

You can go to the VA, after you retire, and get a percentage of disability.  I think sleep apnea will get you 40% disabled.  No shit.  From there, you can up it.  All the while, drawing a government paycheck as a GS and just waiting to run a similar scam with FERS.  You get no extra money.  The disability percentage is the percentage of your retirement pay that is non taxable.

Unless the disability rating is higher than 50%. If so, they are eligible for concurrent receipt, in which they can receive full military retirement pay and full VA disability pay.

And the DUmmies know ALL the ways to game the system.

Get free money here then move to another country and pay nothing there, too!  What a deal and it proves yet again that taxes are a good thing, as long as they don't have to pay them.

May I suggest a small village in the mountains of Columbia. He can move next door to a man of dubious character who has a mule named "Pepe" and is supported by a bunch of people that can't read.

OK.  I really have no knowledge how all that disability stuff works... especially with the military and civilian fed government.  Thanks guys!!   :cheersmate:

I still maintain the dummie is lying.  Someway, somehow, somewhere in his story the dummie is lying.  It is what they do.

But it is so nice when he reads all those Joan Wilder books them on Saturdays.
