A Hillary primary win will likely KILL DU off.
As some people are saying, who would want to stick around here for a Hillary GE campaign? Even if we feel compelled to vote for her against Trump or Cruz, what will be the point of sticking around here?
Isn't support for Bernie here about 80 percent?
One can only hope... but who knows, something worse could take it's place.

1. Something like that. Question for me will we have another purge. We do have changed to the jury system in the works that will go in after the primaries are over. Can the enthusiasm be channeled or will it be like the ham sandwich votes in 2004 again.
Lots of questions. This time there is Discussionist to fall back on, for both users and admins alike.

29. Can someone explain to us new DUers what a purge is? Thanks. n/t

57. Banning people who don't support democratic candidates.
If you look at the Terms of Service here, that will provide more clarity.

39. The Gay Purge Of 2009
Many LGBT and their allies were purged from DU by the admins for speaking up in how they were treated. One was purged for posting the number 7, which at that time was how many were banned by the admins.
Many, many posts from that time are in the DU archives.
The darkest time for DU in it's history, IMO.

5. No, it won't. The people who came here for one purpose, and one purpose only, will leave, as they do, only to return in two years to fling shit during the midterms.

7. I've been wondering that. In order to not break the TOS, I plan to drop off voluntarily if she's the nominee. It will probably become an echo chamber and that big bubble will work to her disadvantage. Hell, even with Sanders supporters around here, many of her fans can't see her obvious right-tilt in foreign and economic policies as it is.
become an echo chamber? BECOME?

Which is sad given that I have read this site since 2002, almost half my entire life, and have been a member for over 10 years.

24. Another threat? I have heard all kinds "if Bernie doesn't win" it's all over comments, but this is the first one hinting that DU will "vanish" without the Bernie supporters.
Thing is that any "real" supporters who are progressives, liberals, or Democrats, will be doing the right thing and backing Hillary. Even Bernie has said that's what he will do because he knows how bad it would be with a republican back the the WH. So you see that the only ones who will leave are the right wing trolls, and some of the old anti Obama crowd who have burned to many bridges to stay around, and who have their own board now with their fearless leader Manny, who was banned from DU. They all hated DU anyway, and the only reason they are still here is so they can come here daily and bash Hillary. You would think since they claim the new site is all about getting Bernie elected, they would be doing all the can to met that goal instead of spending all day here repeating the same trash and bash threads the GOP has been spreading for years, day in and day out.

Considering $kinner runs that site too...I wouldn't be so sure.
But in the event he doesn't ban you there as well...we Conservatives will be waiting for you. :-)

My god, half of your life surrounded by demented a**holes, yea that's not going to cause too many developmental problems. :whatever:

Talk about contrasts between liberals and conservatives. I've seen some rousing, even heated debates on here concerning Trump/Cruz. I haven't however seen one person threaten to leave in a huff if their candidate gets the nomination. I swear DU is full of children.

I dunno why in the world Judy grasswire or the big fat lazy loafing freeloading Odin2005 think Skins's island would miss something by their departures.
Unfortunately in today's society, the primitive types proliferate, and I'm sure that if those two were to leave, it wouldn't be but a minute or two before two others step into their shoes, or their mouths, taking their places.
Admittedly, Judy grasswire's kind of unique in her own way, but who's to say there wouldn't be another primitive even more distinctive, to take her place?

Grasswipe's appearance brought to mind a question: Is the CalPig still around?

Yes, she was sighted on a thread started by TheMastersNemesis, who tried to mansplain something to the ladies. She let him have what-for and didn't call him "my dear" either. :lmao:

She is, but she's keeping true to her pledges to post less and less, to be around less and less often.
I really doubt however she has a choice in the matter; old age and decadence--the too-easy, too-soft, of a life--have caught up with her, and much of the time she doesn't have the energy or motivation.

The purge (and it is going to happen lurking DUmmies) is going to be effin awesome. :-)
I have a nice little spot picked out on the island to watch the festivities.
A word of advice to the Bern-outs, flee now or be banned later, it is your choice.

Clinton raking in superdelegate votes
Hillary Clinton has increased her lead in the Democratic primary since her resounding loss to Bernie Sanders in New Hampshire by wooing 87 new party superdelegates to support her campaign over the past week.
The Associated Press reports that Sanders won the support of 11 superdelegates over that same time period.....
.....Clinton's massive superdelegate lead puts her ahead 481-55 in delegates to the Democratic National Convention, according to the AP's count.....
Too bad for the Bernie bullies.
The WillyT primitive can suck my dick over this.

I really hope Bernie wins most of the primaries and cocks of the Dems. Then I hope Hillary wins the nomination purely on the superdelegates.

"Right-tilt"? She probably only allows her limo drivers to turn left! Makes them drive like Teddy (and we know how that turned out!).

It's irritating when illiterate democrats say "primary" when they mean "nomination".
They must all be illiterate, because they all do it.
