King Barry will be too busy playing golf to attend Justice Scalia's funeral.

Let's play devil's advocate. A SCOTUS Justice has died. You're weighing attending his funeral.
Meanwhile, the Republican party issues a fatwa saying they are going to **** your every move in every way possible if you even THINK of selecting a nominee before the end of your term in office.
I don't know about you, but I'd send Joe Biden while I came up with 100 ways to **** them back.
I'm just silly that way.
It's almost like they don't understand that King Barry is the President of the entire US of A and not their little twisted part of it.

1. I'm not sure what you mean by ****
This is a ceremony. The President should attend and it should have nothing to do with politics.
If it IS about politics, however, the president should absolutely attend. He's the president. No one should spook him out of attending any event anywhere in the country that he has been elected to lead. A member of the highest court has died. Friend or rival, the leader of all the people should be there to mark his passing.
Barry is petty and childish. Of course he won't attend. I'd almost bet the white house issues a statement with the name King Barry will be nominating as the new justice during the funeral.

8. Why is he "above politics"?
Scalia was a horrible justice who made horrible decisions.

23. two of the funerals that were not attended by the President were held outside DC
Of the last 4 Supreme Court Justices to have funerals in DC, the President attended three.
See how easy it is to spin these things? If you're going to give remarks decrying partisanship, then it makes sense to go the extra mile and not pitch a softball to those who would say the President says one thing but does another.

11. The State of the Union is a ceremony as well so where was Scalia these past 20 years? Where were Alito and Thomas since Obama was President.
Obama is paying the respect needed by taking his wife to the Court for that ceremony

22. Liberal Justices did not attend Bush SOTU
In 2007 only four Justices attended (conservatives minus Scalia).

25. It's not good to have Biden and Obama in one place. Biden was ranking minority member of the Judiciary Committee when Scalia was confirmed. Biden is a far more important figure to the life, memory and career of Scalia. Given the likely attendance of this thing, there are legitimate security concerns about having them both there.
there is always a cover for why Barry acts like an ass.

6. Scalia was a hateful right-wing goon, clothed in judicial robes. I applaud President Obama's restrained showing of respect. It's far more than Scalia is entitled to.

14. You really believe he did it out of spite? This president? I find that very difficult to believe. This President has shown a willingness to sit with the enemey time and time again throughout his presidency. I think it is much more likely Scalias partisan wife did not wan't him there. Or that he had other engagements already scheduled.

13. For the sake of the nation I am the adult in the room and I go
it is that simple, Not about Scalia, but respect for the office.
I know this is too complex for partisans to understand, but this is just going to deepen the divisions in DC, and it is childish by the way.
Now if they were asked by the family to stay away, make that public.
:lmao:

If president ghetto rat acts like a civilized adult I will be more surprised then if he does not.

King Barry will be too busy playing golf to attend Justice Scalia's funeral.
That just means that he thinks of Scalia in the same way as he thinks of America, which isn't particularly surprising, if you look at the history of Scalia authored opinions whether majority or dissent.
Scalia wasn't so much left or right, he was constitutional, which sometimes the left agrees with and sometimes not, and sometimes the right agrees with and sometimes not.
(D)Ummies, up to and including the fresh-prince-of-bill-ayers primitive currently occupying the white house with his faux-domesticated pet sasquatch, always seem to be putting the cart before the horse. There is no such thing as a left or right decision. There are only constitutional decisions which the left or right like or dislike, and unconstitutional decisions which the left or right like or dislike.

34. Scalia was a far right pos.
If the President doesn't attend, that's up to him to make that decision. It has nothing to do with "respect for the position".

He's the president. No one should spook him out of attending any event
I hope someone alerts on this racist calling our president a spook.

I thought liberals loved Moslems? Why would they slander both Republicans and Moslems by stating Republicans issued a fatwa? DUmmies make no sense.

Uffda, no wonder the weekly only has one reader or her blog.
How to further alienate whatever fanbase you ever had.
I know this is too complex for partisans to understand,......
Smooth move, gNads.
