Title: Think like a DUmmie - Define "voting against their self-interests".
Post by: Patriot Guard Rider on February 17, 2016, 01:42:33 PM
There is a thread going here where the definition of "Voting against their self-interests" is kinda up for grabs.

I thought it would be fun for Cavers to finally define what "self-interest" actually is, since the DUmmies don't define, they just say.

So, what is YOUR definition of "Voting against their self-interests"?

When a DUmmie says we "vote against our self-interests," it means what I saw FlaGator put in the last thread--

We vote to not give them something that they want.

"Voting against their self-interests", in my mind, means everyone needs to earn just a little bit so they can get all the free sh*t they can get.

However, MY self-interest is voting against THEIR self-interest since I'd be funding theirs and voting against mine.

My self-interest trumps (pun intended) theirs.

So, would they agree I'm voting for "my" self-interest?

From their point of view, it is "good infospeak", as opposed to "bad infospeak". Anything they agree with is "good infospeak", and in this case "the self interests of others as WE (the (D)Ummies) define them, for others", is something they agree with, particularly since they're deciding for everyone else.

Voting against your own self interests in MY view?

Voting for politicians that promise to leave you and others alone even less. I think that right there at the ground floor of fundamentals is a fine place to start.

They seriously believe that they are smarter than you. Despite not being able to function on the most basic of levels and adhering to an ideology that has failed on countless scales in various countries.  The fact that you don't believe as they do means that you must be treated with scorn.  They can't define what your own best interests are because they know so little themselves about what they believe.

They define "best interests" as getting the most one can while contributing the least possible.

Right out of the liberal playbook.  Ridicule it, it will be ignored. Ignore it, it will go away.

As for best interests... pretty simple really.    I vote for any politician that wants to let me keep more of the money I work for.  I vote against any politician that wants to take my money and give it to someone that does not earn it.  I tell the fools that tell me that I am voting against my best interest to sod off.

This nation is now divided between makers and takers.  Oh the takers talk a good game until a proposed tax hits them. Then they start bitching about the evil tax man.  Hypocrites all.

Using government to extort/coerce from others to give to me; extorting from other groups to give to my group is a corollary.
