If Bernie is elected President, what should be his first priority?
Naturally, he would like to get a lot of things done but there is such a thing as a Congress.

Should he attempt to break up the big banks?

Should he try to get a jobs bill thru Congress?

Should he attempt to put a small tax (.05%) on all stock transactions on Wall Street?

What do you think he should try to accomplish first?

4. +1

Even less than .05% will do.

Knock down the high frequency trading and pure speculation.

Then break up the banks.

Then renegotiate or vacate "trade" agreements to actually get a US balance of payments.

7. Good question.

Recommended.

In my opinion, he should first attempt to get a jobs bill through. The results of that will then be used to promote his second step, which would be more comprehensive.

9. 1. Military disengagement from the ME

2. Regulate the banks again - reinstate Glass-Steagall.

3. Our crumbling infrastructure - which can double as a jobs plan.

4. Tax the bejesus out of the Tenth Percent.

These idiots don't realize, the chances of Bernie getting the nomination, AND winning the Presidency, are LESS than the chances of Cindy Crawford knocking on my door and begging me to f*ck her up the a*s, right?

Dream on, Bernie bullies.

This is the same thing as fifty years ago, when those who supported Barry Goldwater thought that if he was elected, he'd be able to make some major changes.

Uh, no; there was that Democrat-controlled Congress and Supreme Court to deal with, and they weren't about to cooperate with Barry.

Same thing here; the Bernie bullies think Methuselah could rule by decree, disregarding a probable Republican-controlled Congress and the Supreme Court, although still majority Democrat, probably wouldn't care much for the sourassed sourpuss's big ideas themselves.

Do the primitives think the president of the United States wields all effective power?

Quick answer, yes. Jugears has done it and they now believe it's ok for any Dem to rule that way. Of course, if a Republican, Trump or Cruz were to win, they'd, all of a sudden, discover the constitution.

y'all are assuming that congress will go along with this.

Bernie cannot rule like Obama...Bernie is not black, so the wimpy GOP establishment won't be afraid of him.

Hell, if Obama were white, half the democrats would have went along with impeaching him.

If Sanders Claus is elected, his first priority should be to wake up after an alcohol fueled bender from getting blown out by HiLIARy.

The best chance for Sanders to become President is for him to accept Hillarys VP offer (unlikely) and then "off" her in some grandiose Presidenticide right after the election.

By National election?  Not happening. Ever

You saw that movie to?   :-)

Seriously... Bernie scares me to death.  I thought about the same thing when Obama was running, and he was running against two very very weak candidates, IMO.

Obama would be a moderate Republican compared to Bernie.

I have a prediction to make. It is going to break a lot of hearts when it happens. These things often do, as things of this nature go right to the heart, themselves. Bernie Sanders becoming president is not a matter of "if", but a matter of "when". I know that a whole lot of you will read this and go "What? CMD have you been sipping from a radiator again?". You heard me right, you heard it here, and you heard it first.

Bernie Sanders will be President.

If you guys look closely at the evidence, as I have, you'll only be able to come to the same conclusion. I think if we drop politics for a minute, we can all admit that he has presidential qualities, and by the end of this post, I guarantee that every caver will agree: Bernie becoming president is inevitable.

Now that I've got that off my chest, I need to answer the question the (D)Ummie asked. What should his priorities as President be. To me, this really means what hes going to get started on, on day 1.  I think the best way to figure out what his priorities should be is to look into the future on what can be reasonably expected as his first day in office.  So, lets look at day 1

At 6:30 am, he will wake up and brush his teeth just like you and me. At 6:45, the ord... err  secret service agents will arrive to escort him to breakfast with the other patie...err his advisers.

At 6:55 Am he will have a 5 minute health care briefing with 2 of his advisers. Pre breakfast health candy will be given him to help keep his strength up. To be taken with food only. This is the first  of three such briefings he will have daily for his entire term as president. With president Sanders, healthcare isn't just a right, its a commitment.

At 7 am breakfast is served.

At 7:30 the presidential party will move to another room for an intelligence briefing, lasting 3 hours. The topics for the first days intelligence briefing will be along the lines of "The Price is Right", "All of My Children", with a video presentation of "Driving Miss Daisy".

From 10:30 to noon, he will meet with his advisors on a list of topics including taking control of energy, water, rail transportation, and the enactment of a "Super Tax". Advisors have second choice of game piece obviously, so hands off the Presidents thimble.

At 12:00 break for lunch.

No.  What scares me is an electorate that would place them in power.

If Sanders Claus (Love that! H-5 earned and issued!) is a full-blown socialist, his first act would be to consolidate his power by taking out ...

... wait for it ...

... The CHILL's supporters. The same way Lenin and Stalin got rid of competing socialist parties and personalities.

I think they are under that belief after Obama with his pen, phone and use of the executive branch to bypass congress.

O showed the way for future Dems and certain Repub presidential hopefuls.

That tactic works only for DemocRATS. A Republican tries that, the dems will suddenly discover the constitution.

Resign.....

That would be ideal, of course, but fat chance of that happening.

Back in 2009 I suggested the first thing the new president should do was resign, commenting "this job's too big for a small man like me."

Almost - the first act would be to dissolve Congress and the Supreme Court. THEN he would take out the Chill's supporters while they are distracted by their mad cheering for steps 1 & 2...

slightly off topic but something that I am curious about.  For the past 7 years obama has done all he can to kiss the ass of the muslim population in this Country.  with sanders being a Jew, will the muslims that obama has courted the his 2 terms embrace sanders as a Presidential candidate, or is their hatred of all things Jewish so big that they will vote for his opponent?

I'll take your answer off the air.

First priority for the Colonel? Fried chicken for everyone! However, it will be rationed. Every third Tuesday, you may have one (1) herb or spice on your otherwise flavorless, undercooked, government approved chicken substitute.
