Title: Remember when advanced degrees were necessary for a POTUS candidate ? Not now.
Post by: miskie on February 03, 2016, 06:26:17 AM
Fun little thread here - http://www.democraticunderground.com/12511127472 - Anyway, DUmmies are discussing The Bern's lack of an advanced degree, pointing out all he has is a Poli-Sci Bachelor's.. Does it matter ? Apparently not.

Should it matter that Bernie Sanders doesn't have an advanced degree?

Bernie Sanders has a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. Hillary Clinton and Martin O'Malley both have law degrees. On the GOP side, Trump is the only one of the top 4 candidates who doesn't have an advanced degree. Rubio and Cruz have law degrees, and Carson has a medical degree.

Should it matter? Will it matter?

I remember lots of crowing about how 'The Obama administration is the smartest administration in the history of The United States.' - The Bern has changed all of that. - lots of cognitive dissonance at the link above.

Political science is a dressed up way to say how to game the government for money and power more often then not.

I'm not aware an advanced degree, or a college degree, or even a high school diploma, was ever required of presidential candidates.

And when looking at Methuselah, if that's what a college degree does to an idiot, well, maybe not having a college degree should be a requirement.

<<<has a college degree; whoopee shit.

I'm curious, however.  It wasn't that long ago--maybe a year or so ago--that the primitives were mocking one of their bete noires--I forget which one; the governor of Wisconsin or the governor of Michigan or the governor of Florida--because he never finished college.

<<<even with nostrils plugged shut, smells impending hypocrisy.

What kind of advanced degrees did Karl Marx, Vladimir Lenin, Josef Stalin, or Mao Tse Tung have?

No, DUmmy, an advanced degree is not required to be part of Old Red's peer group.

Scott Walker, Governor of Wisconsin, never finished his undergrad degree.  At Marquette, I believe.

And the dummies screamed and hollered that he was unfit for office.  For that matter the libs screamed and hollered that Reagan was just a B actor that was too stupid to be president.  Bush was a C student. Et freaking cetera.

Now the dummies and the libs say it is OK if you are stupid.  Anyone who has watched the dummies for more than a year could have predicted this.

Hey dummies? Where is the outrage now?

Indeed, The Bern just wants government freeloaders to have something to occupy their time between checks.  :thatsright:

The 10 Worst College Majors; (Oct 11, 2012)
No. 1: Anthropology And Archeology
Unemployment rate for *recent grads: 10.5%
Median earnings for recent grads: $28,000

I read a story, "Welfare Abuser Who Thinks $40K Per Year in Benefits Isn’t Enough", that illustrates Bern's failure to grasp reality.

Being curious:

Ted Cruz - BA Public Policy, Princeton; JD, Harvard, magna cum laude

Donald Trump - Bachelors degree in Economics, UPenn;

Marco Rubio - BA Political Science, UFlorida; JD, UMiami, magna cum laude

Ben Carson - Bachelors degree in Psychology, Yale; MD, UMich

In real life: Carson was Director of Pediatric Neurosurgery at Johns Hopkins; Rubio was concurrently a practicing lawyer and served in public office; Trump, real estate (Duh!); Cruz practiced law privately, then for the USAG and TAG, then privately, before being elected US Senator for TX.

In real life: The CHILL practiced law briefly, had brief and spectacular success in commodities, was enabler-defender of a rapist-philanderer, was elected carpet-bagger Senator for NY, and then was one of the worst, least successful SecStates in US history; Bernie was unsuccessful in life until he became mayor of Burlington, VT and has been in elective politics ever since.

I know, I was too nice to The CHILL and the bern ... what can I say ... I'm a too nice guy, ...

Point of Order: you neglected to include Hilliary's time as a staffer on he Watergate committee, at least until she was fired for ethics violations.

Advanced degrees, DUmmy?

Franklin Delano Roosevelt: BA History, Harvard. Dropped out of Columbia Law School.
Harry S. Truman: None. Dropped out of community college, attended but did not graduate Kansas City Law School.
John F. Kennedy: BS International Studies, Harvard. Attended, but did not graduate, Stanford School of Business.
Lyndon B. Johnson: BA Teaching, Texas State University
Jimmy Carter: BS Engineering, US Naval Academy, Attended, but did not complete, non-credit post-graduate programs

I guess the DUmmy's qualifications disqualifies the five Democratical president before the Clenis wiped his Little President on the Oval Office curtains.

I rowed over.  They're completely oblivious to the way they talked about Scott Walker, or Sarah Palin not having gone Ivy League.

Noting new for them. being a DUmmy allows one to hold contradictory positions, even at the same time.
