At Least I'll Be Able To Keep Warm In My Car After I Lose My House And My Retirement Money Is....
gone. I guess there's a silver lining in the fact that the price of oil is dropping.
That will be about all I'll be able to afford - gas that is - as I wind up having to live in my car. At least I'll be able to keep a bit warm.
I thought the fact that we are less reliant on oil was a good thing. I thought we were moving to wean ourselves off of fossil fuels and on the road to alternate energy.
What the hell is going on? Somebody is getting rich off my retirement money that is being eroded by the whims of Wall Street. And just when I'm contemplating retiring in the middle of 2016.
Retirement money? How dare you! :whatever:

You know, something's always mystified me about the primitives, and the way they think, what they expect from life.
What makes them think retirement's supposed to be easy and comfortable?
Yeah, it would be nice if it were, and it'd be even nicer if everybody, and not just a select few, could attain that luxury.
Unfortunately for the primitives, throughout all of recorded human history including clear up to the present day, an easy and comfortable old age seems to have eluded nearly all of the human race, and when it happened, it happened more by luck than by plan.
And the primitives tend to be the people least worthy, least deserving, of an easy and comfortable retirement, no matter how much they scrimped and saved for it. They were the ones who constantly voted to give away other people's money, and now it's their turn to make the sacrifice.
We have this idea that since the old man and the old lady, members of the greatest generation, seemed to have a good retirement, that we can too. But such was not the universal experience; in fact, it was much more the exception than the rule.
This globule primitive, rather than spending all of his working years fantasizing about an easy and comfortable retirement, would've been better served learning and practicing survival skills.
I say this based upon what I saw and heard in the socialist paradises of the workers and peasants during the early and mid-1990s, when I observed hordes, herds, swarms, of weak ill vulnerable ancient people who so tenaciously managed to survive. It wasn't the money they'd put away, or the money the socialists had taken from them and "saved" for their retirement; a fixed pension with 100,000% inflation doesn't go very far, if it goes at all.

It's well in keeping with their general stupidity and gullibility. Take what's going on right now: the crash of oil prices, brought on by a glut. Wasn't it the DUmmies who assured us just a few years ago that we were at peak oil? That it would soon be $200/bbl? Anyone else remember the ENDLESS threads about "peak oil?"
WRONG AGAIN, DUMBASSES.
Remember when they were howling about basic foodstuffs becoming rare, evidenced by bags of rice being "rationed" at Costco? Remember when speculation was driving up the price of all commodities, and investors were hoarding corn and rice and such?
WRONG AGAIN, DUMBASSES.
Remember when the dollar was much weaker, and the DUmmies were asking each other how to convert their vast cash holdings into Euros? Remember that the dollar weakness was going to cause China to "call its debt" and wipe out the US? Remember when they admiringly noted that Jay-Z was flashing Euros in a music video? REMEMBER WHEN TWIXVOY ADVISED THEM TO SELL EVERYTHING AND PUT IT INTO GOLD, AND PUT THE GOLD IN THEIR WALLS?
WRONG AGAIN, DUMBASSES.
Let's face it: they're just stupid as all ****.

Gosh DUmbfuk, you thought the law of unintended consequences doesn`t affect you?
What do you think single payer will do to the financial markets?

For DUmmies, life is a bunch of unrelated incidents -- each one indivisible like a dormitory meatball.
Getting a good degree in a skill desired by the market place and not having kids before marriage have nothing to do with poverty. Free stuff from the government has nothing to do with the National Debt. The National Debt has nothing to do with unemployment. Hard work has nothing to do with wealth. obozocare has nothing to do with the cost of health care. Socialism has nothing to do with limited availability and lower take-home pay in the EU and empty shelves in Venezuela.
Nothing has any linkage to anything else.
By this alone we can see how the smartest people on the planet are dumber than a bag of feces.

The law of supply and demand is as inflexible and unavoidable as the law of gravity, DUmbass.

I read the entire thread. Some dummies, possibly moles, possibly my moles, gave some excellent advice. :whistling:
The dummie could continue working and pay off its house before it retires. I could go on and on. Lots of options for the dummie.
No though... the dummie is going to retire come hell or high water this year. That is why the dummie is a dummie and a soon to be poor one at that. I hope the dummie ends up in a tent city freezing he/she/its ass off in the winter after the vehicle gets towed for illegal parking.
I love the smell of a dummie dream coming to an abrupt end.

Why doesn't the Dummy just move his/her 401k into something more stable, like most people do when they are approaching retirement.

That would take personal responsibility. You know better than that.

A more obvious answer would be what 401K ? I thought DUmmies were all about SS.

I thought about that, but many companies have required 401k contributions so the primitive took whatever elections turned up first and forgot about it

I thought the federal government made it automatic and you had to opt out now? I may be incorrect, would not be the first time, won't be the last... I could swear though that I read something about it a while back.
Anyway... for whatever reason the dummie contributed his/her/its not so hard earned money into it and those evil repubs stole it!!!!!
Obama is president? Don't matter! It was the evil rethugs!!!! Bernie gonna fix it all!!!

Dunno about the feds, just left one company cause they didn't offer any retirement, just some sort of goofy gain share program.

Well I got curious and went looking. I found it. I thought I had read it somewhere. From what I read here, it is not mandated, just establishes that a company can do it. Story of my life.... half right, half wrong... except when it comes to women. Then I am 150 percent wrong 200 hundred percent of the time. :cheersmate:

This is one of those threads that make me regret American automakers abandoned the full-sized bench seat.
My Ford is almost as comfortable as my sofa at home, but a previous owner bypassed the heater core.

They abandoned full-sized cars, too. You have to be under five foot tall to stretch out in the back seat now.
