Northern Alps climbers asked to 'please shoot the monkeys' to protect young birds

NAGANO--Prefectural government officials have declared open season on Japanese macaques prowling the Northern Japan Alps, to protect the endangered ptarmigan chicks they are reportedly feasting on.

They are asking climbers and volunteers to carry air guns and slingshots and fire away at monkeys to chase them off the high-mountain areas. The prefectural government plans to allocate a budget for fiscal 2016, which starts in April, to supply the weapons to mountain lodges in the Northern Japan Alps.

The armaments would be in place for the keep-monkeys-away project, which runs between May and September next year.

Every time a monkey kills a ptarmigan, one million monkeys face God's angry wrath! God is punishing filthy sodomite monkeys!   :argh:
