...so says James Warren, contributing editor @ U.S. News World report.
A new survey shows a sizable number of Democrats ready to defect from Hillary Clinton to Donald Trump. The survey by Washington-based Mercury Analytics is a combination online questionnaire and "dial-test" of Trump's first big campaign ad among 916 self-proclaimed "likely voters" (this video shows the ad and the dial test results). It took place primarily Wednesday and Thursday and has a margin of error of plus or minus 3.5 percent.
Nearly 20 percent of likely Democratic voters say they'd cross sides and vote for Trump, while a small number, or 14 percent, of Republicans claim they'd vote for Clinton. When those groups were further broken down, a far higher percentage of the crossover Democrats contend they are "100 percent sure" of switching than the Republicans.

I'm not quite so sure yet about Trump. Is he merely a siphon for the DEMS as some have stated? With his recent attack on Cruz and other GOP candidates as well, I do question him. Cruz is the most conservative candidate that is running and Trump has put focus and doubt on his eligibility to be President. Funny how it wasn't until Cruz is leading in the Iowa polls that Trump said anything negative about him. I realize that it was strictly a political move, but Trump at one point had made comment that he would select Cruz as his VP. Well, if Cruz isn't eligible to be president, he won't be eligible for the VP spot either. If Trump wasn't in the picture; perhaps Cruz (a true conservative) would be looking at taking it all right now.
In other news, Sanders is leading Clinton in New Hampshire. I still think we very well may see Sanders win the nomination instead of Hillary.

Trump was the first one to mention building a wall, stopping and deporting illegals coming in from our southern border and stopping the rag heads from entering the US. All of the other candidates were flabbergasted by his comments. The last current events have proven him right on all counts. Plus, I know of no other candidate that would go after Bill
and Hillary on their sleazy behavior. Attacks on them would be off limits which might have cost wuzzies like McCain and Mitt the past election.
I will gladly vote for Cruz if he is the nominee. However, I not only want a Repub. to win the W.H., I would like to see the Clinton machine smashed to bits. I just think Trump is a better candidate to do that
Sanders might win a few left wing states in the northeast but Clinton will probably trounce hime in the non socialist states on Super Tuesday.

I don't, unless the FBI forces an indictment of Hillary for removing the classification off of thousands of emails. The FBI has the email (it was released on Thursday) from her to an aide that specifically directs the retransmission of emails after they have been stripped of any classification markings. That is a felony. Actually, IIRC, each message is a seperate felony.
But, Obama may decide that HilLIARy has the best chance of winning, and may decide to (tepidly) support her. I saw that Elizabeth Warren has endorsed Sanders--quietly.
The thing that HilLIARy has going for her are the superdelegates. She has most of them--enough to win the nomination. No matter what happens in the primaries.
I think she gets the nomination, but loses it in the general.

I sure hope BSS is right as rain as usual.
But even more than that I hope that(as the libs used to say about Carl Rove)... Hitlery gets frogmarched off to a Federal Penitentiary.

If Cruz gets the nomination his natural born citizenship status WILL be raised, by a Dem party desperate to hold on to the presidency. Since the Supreme Court has not definitively ruled on natural born status, it's an issue both sides can and do drag out. The thing is, some of the same conservatives who questioned Obola's citizenship status, such as Orly Taitz, are also questioning that of Cruz, Rubio and, not that it matters now, Jindal. They are being consistent, which is what we are always looking for, right? It'd be hypocritical to give Cruz and Rubio a pass on the question if Obola was queried.
Politics is ugly, and the gloves are off. Did we expect anything different? Trump is an asshole, I've said that all along, but he plays to win, so the idea that he's some sort of a plant is as ludicrous as that clip of Fonzie jumping the shark. I don't expect much in the way of gentlemanly, or ladylike, behavior from these candidates as the contest progresses. Ben Carson is an example of what happens to the nice guy in elections. He's got the tread marks all over him to demonstrate and his poll numbers aren't as good as they were.
I agree with Belle; Trump can go all the way. I've said it here from the beginning and despite all the sneering from the pundits, Dems and the liberal media in general he ain't going anywhere and neither are his supporters. In fact, I heard on FOX very recently that 79% of his NH voters are not planning to vote for anyone else. He's pulling support from everyone else because above anyone else he managed to capture the mood of the general populace best of all. And he's bold, brave and decisive, (someone and I don't remember who likened him to Godzilla stomping over all opposition) so in these times of uncertainly and downright fear he's a very attractive alternative to the same old status quo.
Unlike most of the others running, he's not spent his life holding down one political office after another, no matter how exalted. He's built companies, created tens of thousands of jobs and has been speaking out on the same issues he's raised during the campaign for years. I've read some of his earlier books. He has changed his position on some things, but he's been first and foremost a DOER, not a drain on the public till and he's determined to build America better than ever, like he did all those properties he acquired. And for God's sake, how many Americans have to be murdered in our own country for a common sense solution like a wall to be proposed. Donald saw and problem and took a wrecking ball to it; that's what you do with a rotten, broken down building before you rebuild and that's what you do to a rotten, broken down political system before you fix the corruption.
I don't see the Dems allowing Bernie to be the nominee; they're likely to draft Slow Joe the Grinning Groper. He's already made the comment that he regrets every day not running. Obola might allow Lynch to indict Hitlary just to clear the field for his favorite candidate. He could always sic his IRS on HER and Bill's asses instead of the Tea Party fund raisers too.

Boudicca, once again, you're spot on:

Finally, movement in Iowa: (http://thehill.com/blogs/ballot-box/presidential-races/265421-trump-leads-cruz-by-two-points-in-new-iowa-poll) Donald Trump leads Ted Cruz by 2 percentage points in a new poll from Iowa, suggesting a tightening presidential race ahead of the state’s Feb. 1 caucuses.
Trump leads the GOP field, with 31 percent support, in Quinnipiac University's new poll, followed closely by Cruz's 29 percent. That slim lead is within the poll’s 4-point margin of error.

On smashing the Clinton machine to bits, we are in accord.
When I first became aware of Clinton in 1992, I saw a glib, insincere, complete waste of human flesh.
And then I saw Bill.

If Trump does become the GOP nominee I hope he picks Cruz as his VP.

As long as there are no David Axelrod/Rahm Emmanuel/Valerie Jarrett-types involved, I would not have a problem voting for him.

I think he has already floated that idea.

As more time goes on, the less confident I am in the ability of the American people to see through bullshit.
IMHO, Donald Trump is 100% bullshit. He is neither a conservative nor a Republican. He is an opportunist and narcissistic in much the same way as Barry, just isn't a Marxist (yet).
If Trump does "win it all", we're truly ****ed.
Cruz is a much better choice -- at least he's been consistent over the years.

Anyone in the Republican presidential(to include Paul) field would be a far better president than owebuma.
But that bar isn't very high.

That bar isn't a bar. More like a trench to step over...

I saw on Cavuto's show yesterday a little item by Cavuto himself (IIRC), where he asked two separate Solicitors General of the US about the 'natural born citizen' question. One was the SG under a Republican president; one was the SG for a Democratic president. Both said that Cruz is a 'natural born citizen' by definition.
