'Children Are Eating Leaves Off The Trees': The Nightmare of The Siege of Madaya, Syria
<...> In the past month alone, 31 residents have died from starvation, or in attempts to run the Hezbollah-manned blockade that encircles the town. A report compiled by the Syrian-American Medical Society and made available to VICE News found that a kilogram (two pounds)of flour now retails for around $100, while the average Syrian makes less than $200 each month.
"I had strawberry leaves for dinner today," Rajai, a 26-year old English and math teacher in Madaya, told VICE News by phone, asking that his name be withheld for security reasons. "I haven't had a real meal in three months." Since the siege began in July, he's lost 50 pounds. "Kids are eating leaves off the trees, and the very old are very young are dying," he said.
As the death toll mounted in December, residents of Madaya began posting desperate pleas on social media, along with disturbing images, reminiscent of Nazi concentration camps.
According to Rajai, the Assad regime is punishing his hometown for its participation in the Syrian uprising in 2011. When peaceful protesters took to the streets in the nearby city of Zabadani in April 2011, Rajai joined in. "We wanted to clean this country of Assad," he said. He was arrested and tortured. Now, after five years of civil war, his outlook is bleak. <...> Vice Media

1. What ever happened to We are our brothers Keeper......horrific
Impossible. Has to be a RW smear job. Why, just a few days ago we were told by the State Department itself that
Lord Zero brought peace to Syria in 2015. (http://www.democraticunderground.com/10027498217)
Oh, is that a RW lie, too, lurkers? Well, feast your eyes on the State Dept. claims. (http://blogs.state.gov/stories/2015/12/24/year-review-pivotal-foreign-policy-moments-2015)
So if any children are starving in Syria, since Lord Zero made it all peaceful-like, it is on him. Which means, of course, that he is a murderer.

The DUmmies are between a Barack and a hard place. Barry is supporting Iran, Iran is backing Assad openly and through terrorist organizations like Hezbollah and Hamas, who also hate Israel, just like the DUmmies. But, Obama publicly says Assad has to go.

It's a VRWC lie, as usual.

What kind of writing is that?
I have one for you: in the past month alone 31 residents of some liberal shit hole have died from being abducted by UFOs or by over dosing on drugs.

Why, if 0bama brought peace to Syria, are its children starving?
Global warming caused by the Koch brothers and ChimpyMcSHiltercokeSpoon.

If Syria is so peaceful...why are we being forced to accept in excess of 100,000 "refugees" from there?

Its one of two things:
A) White Privilege
B) BFEE
Just my opinion, of course

It won't be your money, they'll want the government to provide the aid.
True story, several years ago I was in line at WalMart and ahead of me a young lady of color bought her groceries with a EBT card. As I was standing there, I got a little frisky and after she paid I said, "You're welcome". She said, "For what". I said i helped pay for your groceries. She said, "No you didn't, the government gave me this money". I looked at her and asked, "Do you vote?". She proudly said yes. I wished her a good night and just shook my head.

Now that does not surprise me one bit PGR. Not one damned bit. Whatever happened to being on welfare was stigma to be avoided at all costs? :banghead:

Further, she had NO IDEA the money she got from the "government", was taken from you, me and every other working person and given to her. It was the "government", not me, as if the "government" sh*ts money.

It disappeared the minute they went to a debit cart to pay for your food stamps instead of the old school way of paying for them. Once a welfare recipient looked like you and me at the checkout counter and no one knew their Visa Debit Card was actually an EBT card...the stigma went away.

The stigma went away, but you can still sometimes identify the EBT user by what is in their cart, and how many children they are dragging with them. :-)

I can spot them in the aisle. They never look at the price, get brand name food, and the proof is when they get up to checkout. They automatically separate the stuff that EBT won't buy... and they pay for that with cash.
And most of them are lard asses.

I was in WalMart in Jacksonville, Fl a few years ago and the very rotund "lady" (with about 5 kids in tow from 2 to about 15) in front of me had 3 grocery carts full of frozen food (one cart was nothing but mac and cheese), with NO fresh fruit, NO fresh veggies, NOTHING healthy. When she checked out and was gone, I looked at the clerk and said, "You can tell when the beginning of the month gets here". She said, "Yup, frozen food and lunchables. We stock way extra at the beginning of the month and usually sell out".

Like the two carts, one full of nothing but meat that I could never hope to afford if I was paying for it myself?
