3. Marxism was a failure in the 20th century
The Soviet Union for instance.

10. The Soviet Union bastardized Marx's ideas. Marx didn't call for state control of anything. He saw
state as an extension of the bourgeoisie. Marx advocated a sort of extreme version of democracy where people worked together for the good of the people. Statist control simply was not his model.
Unless I misunderstand my Marx.

11. "Marxism" wasn't really tried in the 20th Century
Maybe you should read some Marx.

7. No, Wolff, we've no interest in communism
Failed ideologies that impoverish the masses aren't an answer. Ask anyone under the Soviet Union or Mao's China.

8. Neither does Richard Wolff.
If you're going to disagree, try to do it in a way that's not so intellectually dishonest.

19. Nothing has killed more people than the capitalist exploitation of this planet....
..... whether it be wars for oil, blood diamonds in Africa, forced regime change in Chile or the current climate crisis. I don't know whether your ignorance of this is willful or not, but it's ignorance. But I suspect you know that.
But capitalism has now reached the point where it's cannibalizing itself, so perhaps you should "get over it."

13. Capitalism is designed to impoverish the masses, it is working as designed
The reality based community again. ::)

Reading their bullshit makes my head hurt.

This was tried on a small scale throughout the US during the hippy heydays of the 60's and 70's. Communism doesn't work because not all you lazy ****s want to work.
-
They always claim Russia and China weren't really communist but they never explain why it's so easy to dupe communist revolutionaries into setting up totalitarian regimes under the guise of communism.

Yep. People are individual actors, not worker-unit proles with identical needs and motivations, notwithstanding the mistaken beliefs of Marx and entire land-frant university faculties of Marxist sociologists. Some are motivated by rewards, some by fear of consequences, some by altruism, some don't care as long as they can get fed and laid, and a fairly large proportion will game any system they can to their own personal advantage. No Politico-Economic model is as complex as the populace who will actually be living in it, and whatever people end up controlling any part of it will distort it to their own ends.

I think we all have days like that. The difference between us and the DUmmies is that it's their way of life.

Ah yes, the old "the USSR wasn't really communist, it was state sponsored capitalism" schtick. Anything but admit it was tried and failed.
Guess what, commie primitives? We'll shoot you dead if you try it with us. Promise.

That's what unions have longed worked for, then Obama gave them a gift of ownership of GM shares and what did they do? Sell off a lot of what they owned.

Trust them. All the times socialism and communism have been tried, it's failed (unless you count dis-arming the populace then slaughtering them as a success), BUT, OUR socialists know what went wrong and THEY know how to implement it correctly.
The as*holes.
Liberals disgust me.
