Some of the meanest, nastiest people I've run across in my life are right here on DU.
This place used to be honorable and intelligent. Now it's just WWE-Politics.
Some of you should be ashamed of yourselves!
This discussion thread was locked as off-topic by Spazito (a host of the General Discussion forum).

3. I have no doubt that maybe a few of these people are just unsocialized Democrats.
But it's my firm belief that most of the ugliness and nastiness is coming from ConservativeCave trolls, trying to stir things up.
And however inept, incompetent, backward, broken, idiotic, and squalid they may be, they're good at causing trouble. That's why they do it.
I started lurking here in March, 2001. (I registered in September of that year, one week after the Towers came down.) I saw a lot of arguments in the forums, few as they were. And they were almost all followed by apologies and expressions of friendship and liberal solidarity. We were civil to each other. And I believe that the DU-ers who still are, are the genuine article. If they get ugly and profane, I assume they're trolls who can't be reasoned with.

1. I can feed myself without the government's help
2. I can house myself without the government's help
3. I can heat/cool my house without the government's help
4. I can have a phone without the government's help
5. I can clothe myself without the government's help
6. I can perform maintenance on my house and vehicle without the government's help
7. I can spell and write reasonably well
8. I am gainfully employed

The whole reason why you hate people like me is because people like me shine a spotlight on why utter idiots such as yourself should never be allowed to elect people into power over the rest of us. If CC is such a collection of buffoons then you dummies, with your superior intellect, should be able to shine a spotlight on us and our idiocy. Except you do not. Why is that? I will educate you as to why. We are the mainstream, not you.

You can't call those with whom you politically disagree "inept, incompetent, backward, broken, idiotic, and squalid" and then claim you want, or living your life as if, we "all live in peace and brotherhood." It's clear hypocrisy on his part.
Aristus primitive, you're two-faced given what you say vs. what you do. You really believe your "About Aristus" profile, then you can't say the things you do about those of whom you disagree, otherwise you're automatically yelling to the world you're a fake.
