Stop lying to your children about Santa Claus

2. A bit of a communist mindset

If Santa doesn't give equally, kill the joy for all children in order to make everyone equal. Did the Grinch sponsor this sign?

4. Hey here is an idea!

Let's just give all the wealth and money to a select few and then we can admire them and put them on pedestals and cherish them and live vicariously through them while the rest of us sit in the mud and eat sawdust.

10. Yeah, because ruining Christmas for children is

the first step in equal wealth distribution.

19. It wouldn't be ruined...

If you didn't lie to them in the first place.

Santa was one of the most magical parts of my childhood. I lied to my three kids and the two who are old enough to know the truth loved it and still love playing along with my third kid who still believes.

It's wonderful, it's harmless fun, and you're only young once.

There's more than enough time for reality later on.

16. Yeah, why not talk to these kids about the "magic" of childhood.

and there's a bag of some sort of meal/flour behind them. Granted it's not steak and lobster, but do you really think that they think there is something wrong with them because of that?

How do you know what you are missing if you don't know thst what you are missing even exists?

Let's just give all the wealth and money to a select few and then we can admire them and put them on pedestals and cherish them and live vicariously through them while the rest of us sit in the mud and eat sawdust.

And thus we arrive at the libtard problem.

I am somewhat upper middle class and I assure you no one GAVE me any of my money/wealth.  They were obtained through hard work, thrift, industriousness and making good life decisions.

Most super-wealthy also EARNED their wealth.  Gates, Cuban, Zuckerberg, Buffet, the list could go on and on, all earned their wealth.  Even Trump took a million and made it into many billions.

As for eating sawdust, does this clymer say that is his lot on life?  The poorest American has at least 2 TVs, indoor plumbing, access to Food Stamps and other welfare programs both through state and private efforts.  How many TVs does this asshole have?  Does he have cable or satellite (betcha yes)?  Internet (guaranteed yes)?

The worst kind of envy is being envious of what others earn while doing nothing to improve your lot in life -- coupled with complete unappreciation of the bounty the USA and most other western nations provide their citizens, irrespective of need or level of sloth.

The thread starts with a stupid lefty talking point relating to Santa, and then all hell breaks loose. 1. Some of the DUmmies actually impressed me with a bit of actual compassion, and understanding. Others....showed me more of the same, and worse. What I am about to quote here is some of the worst.

Not every parent, of course, just every parent who ever said, "Behave or Santa will not bring you presents".

Santa is, like "God", an artificial construct with which to control people's behavior. A being whose favor must be curried or punishment will ensue.

Of course he is also a cultural imperative to satisfy corporate hunger for profits through conspicuous consumption.

Altruism should be unsullied by a desire for reward, or a fear of punishment. Santa is "God" writ for children. Disobey and suffer privation. Obey and be rewarded.

Some of these DUmbasses can't even enjoy the joy of children. They are truly disgusting. (Frank, can we open up the nomination thread for just like...5 minutes?  :-) This guy deserves it)

Some people are just so completely miserable in their own lives they think everyone's life should suck as bad as theirs.

Kelvin Mace is one of those people.

I love it when liberals argue about "control' being bad when their entire political platform is based on that notion. Modern liberals are the antithesis of freedom.

The one actual distinction is that the idea of Santa is to allow kids the ability to determine the outcome by their actions and choices.

The irony that is often pointed out is that the so called pro choice party rarely has free choice in mind when it comes to the leftist agenda.

Their underlying problem with Santa is he's a old white guy who has a kick ass ride (sleigh) and lords over an underpaid, non-Union, minority group (elves).  Not to mention the unspeakable amount of animal cruelty that is necessary to motivate a few animals to traverse the globe in just a few hours.

ETA:  The Big Guy (Santa, not Omaha Steve) is likely "packin' heat" due to some of the more unsavory cities and stops along the way
