6. Terrible

ISIS is seeking revenge for the killing of Jihadi John. Paris is the easiest target.

I bet guns are banned there too.

16. This was pre-planned for some time, given the coordinated attacks.

No way is this a response to JJ's purported exit.

Yeah, not something quick and easy like 9/11 that had to be all done in a few months of the Bush Presidency and could have been prevented or stopped by him. </DUmbass mode>

Why France? Well let's see, they stupidly allowed a group of people known more for conquest than assimilation into their nation. The numbers of those people eventually swelled till they felt brave enough to attack unarmed citizens.

To any lurking leftists, yes this is what I believe. History has shown allowing a large group of Muslims into an area inevitably incites violence.

It's a liberal country with strict laws controlling gun ownership. The animals had no fear of people defending themselves and were thus sheep before the slaughter.

Not only do they have a large disaffected Muslim population, there is a significant Syrian component in it, unlike any other European countries.  When the arbitrary borders dividing up the ME and parceling it out were drawn up at Versailles in 1919, France got Syria.

It will happen again because of stupid liberals/socialist in Europe and the US because they feel like they can successfully attack soft targets and the disarmament policies of citizens.

"Why France?" is the easy part to answer.

What I need to find out from the primitives is, in regards to French prez Hollonde and what he knew, was this MIHOP or LIHOP?

France has been bombing ISIS for awhile now including oil wells that were captured from legitimate syrians. Liberal immigration policies along with a separate society that has its own rules and laws made an attack on an unarmed french populace an inevitability.  Look for the same in a major American city near you.

Lots of Muslims from their North African former colonies. Wasn't aware France already had quite a few Syrians, but they've probably let in quite a few more "refugees". The Muslims that have been in France for quite a while haven't joined into French society. Remember the Parisian riots of 5 or 10 years ago?

On the flip side, France probably has very restrictive gun laws, and the French people enjoy doing the sort of things free people do. Those enjoyable things spell "opportunity" for terrorists, who don't give a @#$% about gun laws, but do "appreciate" disarmed victims.

All in all a recipe for a deadly mess if police and security forces are not vigilant while maintaining the lowest reasonable profile.

You answered your own question.

But let me flesh it out a little more for you.

Why France?

Quote
Zones Urbaines Sensibiles – “sensitive urban areas.” The government officially lists some 751 of them: Islamic enclaves in the banlieues, often referred to as “no go zones” because the indigenous populations discourage the presence of non-Muslims who do not conform to Islamic standards of dress and social interaction, and of public officials – police, fire-fighters, emergency medical teams, and building inspectors – who are seen as symbols of the state’s effort to exercise sovereignty in areas Muslims seek to possess adversely.

Some of these zones inevitably evolve into hotbeds of jihadist activity. As the Gatestone Institute’s Soeren Kern notes, there has been no shortage of Internet traffic suggesting, for example, “the killing of France’s ambassadors, just as the manly Libyan fighters killed the U.S. ambassador in Benghazi.” In a low-intensity jihadist thrum stretching back several years, the torching of automobiles has become a commonplace – as many as 40,000 cars burned annually. Perhaps most alarmingly, over a thousand French Muslims, more than from any other Western country, are estimated to have traveled to Syria to fight for ISIS – meaning many will return to the country as trained, battle-hardened jihadists. Beyond the direct ISIS participants, moreover, the Washington Post has reported that a recent poll found 16 percent of French citizens expressing some degree of support for ISIS – an organization whose rule over the vast territory it has seized is best known for decapitations, rapine, the execution of homosexuals, mass graves, and the enslavement of non-Muslim communities.

Couple that with restrictive private gun ownership and you've got an entire country that's ripe for what happened Friday night.

Not only do they have extremely restricted gun laws (Though, especially among veterans away from the ultra-Lib urban areas, they have a certain Gallic indifference to laws with which they disagree which Americans would find familiar), they also have virtually unlimited government powers to surveil private electronic communications with none of that Fourth Amendment hindrance our intelligence community geeks love to snivel about.

From your latter clause in that admirably long sentence it seems reasonably inferable that French law enforcement have been very much less than vigilant. If not infiltrated by people sympathetic with Islamic terrorists.
