White people (especially men...especially straight) seem to have lived in a bubble all their lives
and it seems as if the bubble is bursting.
You know, it's not as if POC and LGBT's never took offense at anything that was said and done...be they insults, epithets thrown, etc.
The problem always was that with white (men) in power, if any sort of complaint was made or action taken to protest anything that was said in utter disrespect, it could very well cost a POC or an LGBT their livelihood, their home, or even their life
So, yes, if a white man called his black housekeeper "gal," it wasn't as if that black housekeeper was going to say anything about it...in the old days.
Nowadays...yes, white people do have to be more respectful and considerate to "others" and frm the looks of several thread, y'all don't like it.
Granted, I do think that sometimes, the discussion of "microaggressions and "safe spaces" goes overboard on occasion, but it exists for a reason.

1. They don't care about minorities' feelings as much as their own.
They get upset over people saying it's offensive to say or do offensive things, and then say their true objection is to the fact that people are getting upset.
They're offended that someone else is offended, and demanding that other people stop being offended to meet their demands.
My problem with these people isn't that they have ill-informed opinions, it's that they're hypocrites. It makes you wonder what the real reason for why they're complaining.

consistent with my experience. There are exceptions to the rule but not many of them. Not enough, not even close.
Change is hard, slow and a long process. But people are literally dying, we gotta get a move on.

I remember posting an op about the demographic time bomb, and thr fact that more than half of the babies born are not white. And that by a certain year they would be outnumbered and would have to share EVERYTHING. They lost their minds. Called me racist. For days.

Just as seriously ... I grew up near a medium-sized rural town in California's Central Valley. It's a farming community, almost an hour's drive (at the time) from the nearest city larger than 30,000 people. In the minds of many/most Libs & Progs, that would be in the heart of the racist beast - or maybe near the colon. Not only did I attend "integrated" schools, in the 60s and 70s, but so did my parents, in the late 10s, 20s, and early 30s. As best I know, my former hometown never had segregated schools, workplaces, or neighborhoods. So I did not grow up in a bubble.
My homes, churches, and workplaces, for over 35 years, have been in Silicon Valley. Maybe Chi-Boy hasn't visited Silicon Valley, but its neighborhoods, churches, and workplaces would be racists' nightmares. I don't live in any sort of racial bubble and never have, except in Chi-Boy's and other DU-folks' willfully created fantasy world.
And my life in this respect is not unique, except for geographical specifics. This world and this country will never be racist-free, but they are a very small, isolated, and hated - by people of all "colors" - bunch.

My homes, churches, and workplaces, for over 35 years, have been in Silicon Valley. Maybe Chi-Boy hasn't visited Silicon Valley, but its neighborhoods, churches, and workplaces would be racists' nightmares. I don't live in any sort of racial bubble and never have, except in Chi-Boy's and other DU-folks' willfully created fantasy world.
Sad, I guess, that we don't experience the worlds they create in their empty widdle heads.

There seems a primitive notion that out here in the middle of nowhere, in the reddest part of Nebraska, we're all evil white people here.
But in truth, the guy who custom-manicures the grass here is blacker than Lamond, and there's two handymen of Texan derivation who do maintenance work here, and on other properties, and the second-most popular cook at the bar in town, whose specialty is Germanic cuisine, is Yashoda, a guy of Japanese derivation.

My town, one would think, would qualify as 'lily-white.' Look harder, and one sees that my church has a special Spanish-language Mass every other weekend. There's Asian-owned and (gasp!) AA-owned businesses all through our little slice of suburbia. There's affluent people of every ethnic background here. The one thing that people in my town share? A good work ethic. Then again, the word "work" is a dirty word to the DUmp denizens.

That's rich. Here we have universities setting up black only "safe zones" and this lib has the balls to say white men grow up in a bubble. Man, I'd love to live in a liberal's world for just 10 minutes. I doubt I'd get anything done, but I get the feeling I wouldn't care.

So then I speculated it seemed a great deal like Skippy, the now-banned NYC_SKP primitive, a rabid Bernie bully who means to cause as much trouble as possible for my fellow alum Skins.
Now, I'm no expert in deciphering ISP numbers, but somehow--it's been a while now--I figured out the ISP number was for the eastern coast, not the western coast, where Skippy lives.
And so for the past several weeks, I've been assuming it's the bitter old Vermontese cali primitive, another rabid Bernie bully.
