56. This is the result of the Republcians' grassroots campaign that starts at the local level.
They are very active in bringing their campaign to the extensive evangelical and fundamentalists block of voters who vote in local elections. This has been totally ignored by the Democrats who have failed to make any effort to take their message to these voters and challenge the Republican's claim that they represent Christian values. They target the entre spectrum from local school boards, city government to the state house.
What is required is someone who can convince the Democrats that the war is actually won on the local level and can energize local politicians to take the fight to community politics. I certainly can not discount the racism that is similarly not addressed and has been a major factor in recent elections. This has not been forcefully contested as being absolutely un-Christian. Democrats should loudly proclaim that it is they that actually put into practice the teachings of Jesus that obligate those with resources assist those in need.
Charity is not an obligation. It never has been. Yet statistic after statistic proves that charitable contributions do more good than 'giving' forced by government diktat.

Not me. There's going to be an initiative on the ballot for next year to make sanctuary cities in California illegal. Over 70%.of those polled want the practice to stop in the state.

The Era of Obama Is Driving the GOP Extinct as Republican Identification Plunges
The Republican decision to obstruct Obama at all costs has led to their own demise. When the Republicans became the party of no, they lost much of the country. The Obama era could have been one of bipartisan compromise and achievement, but Republicans rejected the validity of this president and his presidency from day one. The decision not to evolve with the country has left them taking unpopular position after unpopular position just so that they can say no to Obama.
The overall tone of the country’s political identification is decidedly more left. Contrary to what Republicans like to claim, America is not a conservative country. For the third straight year, the nation has identified more with Democrats than Republicans. When Independents were included in the partisan leanings question, Democrats maintained their six point advantage from last year, and led Republicans 47%-41%.
Not only is the Republican Party facing extinction, but the country itself continues to move left. The nation is leaving the Republican Party behind, and as the GOP has gotten smaller, the extremists have taken control. The only thing saving the Republican Party from total irrelevance at the federal level is their control of the House of Representatives. Of course that House of Representatives is the least popular Congress in history, which speaks volumes about the condition of the Republican Party.
America is moving on without the Republican Party. The United States truly has become no country for the old white conservative men who are the majority constituency of the GOP, as President Obama is leading a new era in American politics.

A couple of years ago Sheriff Mirky committed domestic violence and was convicted for it. Legally, he cannot carry his service weapon. This year he wanted to take his re-qualification test. When he tried to schedule it, the range master inquired of his superior whether CA law permitted his doing so. In place of an answer, the range master got reassigned to a less desirable position. Mirky took the test, and failed. The killing of that young woman by that illegal who would not have been there but for Mirky's policy was the last bale of straw in the load that broke the proverbial camel's back.
I was mildly surprised that SF exhibited a modicum of sense.

Hey! There are plenteous theologically liberal Protestants and "Progressive Evangelicals" (e.g. Jim Wallis and Ron Sider) who believe Jesus mandated extorting $$ from Christian and non-Christian citizens alike for Christian "charity" (they would describe it differently, of course) (any real charity with 75% administrative overhead would be under IRS investigation, but not the Feds!).

More than just a little. It's blowing up all over the place. Guys thinking they're girls and wanting to use locker room showers and rest rooms with the girls is freaking out parents nationwide.

Hate to say it but nothing will change. Hell it may even get worse. There is NO difference between the two party's elites. If the last year has not proven that to every republican I don't know what can.
OAN: when you adjust those losses for affirmative action because we have a half black PTOUS,the democrats have actually picked up in all categories.
