AP: Ohio rejects Issue 3 to legalize marijuana
Issue 3 was rejected, according to the Associated Press. The issue would have allowed 10 companies in the state to grow and sell marijuana to manufacturers and 1,100 voter-approved retail stores. Sales and use of medical and recreational marijuana would be regulated by a Marijuana

7. 2 was no initiatives for personal gain, 3 was monopoly pot.
Really, 3 had something in it for all sides to hate.
On the right, people could hate legal pot.
On the left, people could hate legal drug cartels to enrich fat cat investors.
The socialist argument
OK,so pot is bad if companies can get rich selling it. :stoner:

10. Perhaps
But it went down hard.
I voted yes. What I don't get is issue 3 would have limited to 10 growers for 4 years. After 4 years, the state could add more.
People claim to be pro marajuana but voted it down. So no the alternative is maybe in 4 years, we will have a new law. In the mean time, let people with diseases suffer, and arrest people and lose out on tax revenue.
With it going down this hard, I don't see the point in trying again next year or anytime soon. If Ohio is against this bill 2-1, I don't see the point in donating or volunteering for future bills. Maybe we can try again in 5 years.
which stage of denial is this? acceptance.

17. I see social justice goes out the window because somebody might make a $
Legalizing pot isn't about your right to buy cheap weed. If you voted against this because of "monopolies" then you, truly, were putting profits over people.
No, I don't want to hear your excuses.

22. GOOD...They Need To Be Put Down For Trying To Monopolize...Greedy Bastards!
In Oregon we do it right...ban monopolies. Who do these jerks think they are? Where were they when good, innocent growers were getting busted. There should be canopy limits of 1 acre or 10,000 sq ft indoors. They should grant licenses to those who can prove they grew when it was oppressed. These people make me sick. The carpetbaggers and interlopers deserve nothing as they sacrificed nothing and want to ride the backs of the oppressed. I will smile when they lose.
I guess resorting to socialism is the best way to save face

Shouldn't this say "Butthurt I sense"?

I only find the memes, I don't grade them. :-)

I hope this issue goes down just as hard in my beloved state of Texas too.

Is this character so naive and ignorant that he doesn't realize that one of the designed-in purposes of Obama(don'tCare is to force on small operators - doctors, hospitals, non-profits - a choice between bankruptcy and merging into some easily demonized large "cartel"?

I'm sure they do, but it's obamacare so they don't mention it nor do they care.

Good point! They hate business, so they won't care until it's their doctor or local hospital or SNF that's closed down or their service is impacted. Then they'll care, but only to whine about it, not enough to connect the dots from their pain (literal and metaphorical) to Obama, Pelosi, & Co.

I'm sure the measure would have had a better chance but for that legal monopoly thing, which had to stick in a lot of craws. Personally I think the arguments for legalization are BS, as demonstrated by every ne'er-do-well in the 'Medical marijuana' states having a pot card for every frickin' imaginary and/or fake illness they about which they can muster enough brain cells to repeat.

"Smoking" medicine has always been a Red flag for me as well as your analysis above.

Putting the word 'justice' next to the word 'social' is a kind of hypnotism. It seems like it should mean something more but when one actually examines the meaning of the phrase 'social justice' one comes up empty.
So in the progressive mind you simply keep straining unrelated words and phrases together. I don't know what it is but I am certain a 'social justice stoner' is way, way more important than just a regular stoner.
And just imagine how important a 'social justice stoner philatelist fishmonger' must be?!!!

Don't give 'em any freakin ideas or they'll come up with another one or two identities people can be divided into.

Here is the short version DUmmy.
You progs are always spouting off about how legal pot would be a financial boon to states, who could then tax and regulate it as they do tobacco & alcohol. The failed proposal would have made certain that laws were followed and taxes were paid - yet many potheads voted against it -- because the truth is that isn't what you want, is it ?
You want to grow your own in cardboard milk boxes on your windowsills and pay nobody any taxes whatsoever. - The "tax it" option is your thinly veiled attempt to make it appear that some good will come from legal pot.
Growing pot is easy. any stoner can do it -- compare that to growing tobacco and making booze. Tobacco has a very specific set of requirements to grow properly. Booze is difficult to make tasty, and if you mess up on the ingredients, you'll make poison instead.

This was a bad proposition and it was designed to fail.

As someone who was involved with someone truly addicted to it and I mean for 30 plus years, this shit is really dangerous now. Way worse than back in the 70s when I was in high school and thought it was cool. It messes people up; I've seen it firsthand. People who already have personality problems use it and are ramped up to the Nth degree. Pot is not the "relaxation" thing it supposedly was long ago and I have the injuries from a longtime user to prove it. Paranoia cubed, for users, for real. And lots of withdrawal too (drug test for him)
