We simply cannot settle for the ACA
It's still way too damn expensive for those of us in the individual marketplace.
Our scenario for my wife and I:
We are 59 and 56.
Live in California.
Annual AGI of approximately $55K.
We are enrolled in the Blue Shield Silver plan which still lacks big time in what it covers and pays for.
I underestimated my income for this last year so I expect to owe about $1,200.
Currently our premium is $455.33 per month and like I said that will go up a lot since I underestimated.
In the richest nation on the planet this is truly unacceptable!
Single-Payer NOW!
Can't stay, but I saw this and just had to drop it here! LOL Looks like the blind are waking up. This thread looks like something straight off CC.

They. Were. Warned. No mercy from me. Sock it to them and triple their premiums.

That's what happens when youth substitutes Karl Marx for Alice Cooper.
-
These are the idiots that play right into the scenario cooked up in the original bill. The chaos is intended, and made for evreyone to just come right out for "GOP-payer" (as the vast majority of real "single payers" are, in fact, republicans).
-
Yeah they were warned. They just thought it would be paid for by 'the rich'. Problem is they didn't realize how low that bar had to be set to pay for FREE SHIT! Free shit gets expensive fast.

22. Without the ACA, I'd be dead now
Another bullet point for my list of things I hate about BarryCare.

You wanted Obamacare. No? :mental:
-
The ACA? You mean that law that was supposed to take care of 30 million uninsured, back before we had 41 million uninsured? That one?
-
Anybody notice that when passed -EVERYBODY- including Obama himself, liked calling the ACA "Obamacare" ? Now however, Its reverted back to the ACA, and it seems Obama has nothing to do with it.
This is your plan, Bozos. Dems wrote it, Dems passed it, Dems enforce it.
Republicans were locked out of its design, and none of them voted for it. So this turd clogging the toilet is all yours.

I heard another drawback I hadn't thought of. Young people are marrying before they're ready. One has a job that offers insurance but can't add the fiancé, so they get married before the other person hits 26 and has to pay the tax man.
Kinda like all the fags who told their partners "well, I would marry you if it was legal ..."

I also have to wonder if the OP 'underestimated' their AGI or if they simply lied thinking they wouldn't get caught because you know, it's not fair if they have to pay because they're not RICH!

Knowing the primitives, I'd say that's highly likely.

That was built into the ObamaCare website. They never required anyone to validate their income estimates and encouraged people to minimize their income to get a bigger subsidy.
