1. I'm fully expecting a rate hike in my insurance here at work.

It goes up every year as does the deductible.

Unpossible - Obamacare has been enacted, we are in the land of milk and honey.

2. Health insurance premiums are going up, that's true.

Is that trend affected by ACA? Does ACA cause the increase? Without ACA would there not be an increase?

Maybe the insurance industry could use some oversight.

Maybe we need to replace ACA with Single-payer.

But eliminating ACA will not lower health insurance premiums.

Bozo speaks like a bozo...

4. No, eliminating ACA would not lower the premiums

It wouldn't even slow the increase in premiums. However, the ACA was SUPPOSED to bring down those premiums. Not only hasn't it done so but the premiums continue to increase, outpacing inflation. This isn't sustainable.

I am pretty sure that people tried to warn you fools that the ACA was not all that it was cracked up to be. Did you listen? Nooooo...

3. Our $1100/month plan from BCBS is being cancelled.

Based on the research I've done so far, a similar plan to what we had is going to cost $1700-$1800/month. There is nothing "affordable" about it, IMO.

And you are surprised why?

6. My ACA went down $50 per month for the same insurance and my income

hasn't changed.

Source? Prove it. Post a before and after copy. Be sure to not black out your name and address so Bravenak's tormentor has a new target (two birds with one stone).

7. BlueCross/BlueShield in NM asked

the State Insurance Secretary for a 51% increase of their individual plans. The Ins. Sec. declined their request so BXBS is dropping coverage of all 35,000 individual policy holders in the state.

I currently have an individual plan and the premium is close to $400/month for one person and has a deductible of $5200. Nothing about it is affordable.

As noted before, I think that somebody tried to warn you idiots....

Several conservatives argued with liberals while on smoke break about the ACA. Our point was, you simply can't add 30,000,000 new insured people and expect expenses to drop $2500 per family. It isn't financially sustainable.

They argued the sheer volume of enrolees would make up the shortfall.

Well, the number of people who enrolled was far less than expected. Most get subsidies and even still, their rates are skyrocketing and the deductibles too. I get my medical care through the VA. Costs me $0.00 per month and zero deductible.

Just like those idiots that want $15 minimum wage. MANY people who are getting raises want their hours cut because they lose "benefits".

Liberals. They get what they want, then immediately complain and they want something else.

Maybe the insurance industry could use some oversight.

Obama promised the companies a certain amount of profit, and if they don't make that amount, then the taxpayers are forced to reimburse the insurance companies.

That doesn't sit too well with people, so Obama is allowing insurance companies to raise their rates and deductibles.

A few people see small checks from their insurance carriers, but most will be writing much larger checks to them. Thanks Obama.

Oversight?  By whom?  The same people that gave you ObamaCare in the first place?

Good luck with that.

That, and it's inconveniencing poor dear Marta a great deal too.

She's had to cancel appointment after appointment with the hair stylist because the big guy hasn't kept his promise and terminalized.

Poor dear Marta's known so little joy in life that to her, a visit to the hair-dresser's a big deal, a rare luxury.  And she needs to look good for guys hunting around for a widow to love and cherish.
