This Morning, Racists Burned a 7th Black Church Near Ferguson

Quote
http://usuncut.com/black-lives-matter/this-morning-racists-burned-a-7th-black-church-near-ferguson/

Seven predominantly-black churches in North St. Louis, Missouri, which is near Ferguson, have been targeted by one or possibly more arsonists in the past 11 days. St. Louis and the surrounding region have been home to a resurgence of new-era Civil Rights organizing in the wake of the 2014 killing of Mike Brown by Ferguson police. The Ferguson uprising is credited with launching the nationwide #BlackLivesMatter movement.

This recent string of arsons is the second wave of black church burnings this year. The first occurred this past summer, after arsonists targeted at least six black churches in the wake of the massacre by a young white supremacist at the historic Emanuel AME Church in Charleston, South Carolina.

“You can burn down the building, but you cannot break our body,” said the Rev. David Triggs, pastor at New Life Missionary Baptist Church, one of the seven churches targeted.

Arson against black churches has a long history in America, related to the central role these churches have traditionally played in black communities. Dating back to the decades before the Civil War, the black church has been both a place of worship and a site of resistance to violent oppression. From 19th-century movements to end slavery, to 20th-century opposition to Jim Crow segregation, to present day struggles like #BlackLivesMatter, the black church has been key to the long and ongoing fight for civil rights and equality for all Americans.

Why, of COURSE racists burned the churches. Because, you know, the troika of KamaAina, REandys1, and that other faggot say so. (http://www.democraticunderground.com/10027279340)

1. ONE white church would be national news

And Randy the Insurance Broker would know, because I'm guessing he's both insured and burned a few.

But hold on a sec...while Randy was making the world safe for his Rolex collection and his ass available for BLM members (literally), an arrest was made.  And as fate would have it...

IT'S A BLACK DUDE:

Suspect arrested in string of St. Louis area church arsons **updated** [View all]

Source: St. Louis Today.

ST. LOUIS • Police have made an arrest in connection with a two-week string of church arsons, most of which occurred at places of worship in black neighborhoods, the Post-Dispatch has learned. The suspect is a black man in his 30s, according to a police source.

Investigators are expected to seek criminal charges against him today.

The string of fires, many of which did minimal damage, drew attention of local and federal investigators. The locations drew speculation of whether it was a hate crime.

The Rev. Robert Gettinger, of St. Augustine Catholic Church, 1371 Hamilton Avenue, said news of an arrest is a relief.

"We pray for the person who has done this. It seems to be mentally off balance behavior," Gettinger said.

Hopefully this is the end of the fires.

ST. LOUIS • David Lopez Jackson, 35, was charged Friday afternoon in connection with a string of seven church fires this month and attempting to burn a family member's home Thursday in Jennings.

There was no visible damage to the relative's home along the 5300 block of Wilborn on Friday. Police responded to a call for an attempted arson there shortly after 4 p.m. Thursday.

The Jennings address, which is listed as Jackson's home in some court records and where he was arrested, is in the the area of the first six fires, only about two blocks from the closest. Friday's charges, two counts of second-degree arson, list his address as in the 200 block of Presley Road in the Glasgow Village area of unincorporated St. Louis County

6. Wow ... They arrested a Black man?!? ...

While I do not recommend reading the comments after the article ... I will point to one. A poster, who apparently was in a running dialogue where he/she indicated that it was reasonable to suspect that the arsonist was likely a white racist. Another poster indicated that he/she suspected it was a Black person because the arsonist "could move freely in a Black community without drawing suspicion."

I wonder if that poster was projecting. I have lived in all (majority) Black communities, most of my life. To see a white person in the community rarely drew suspicion, or even a second look, unless he/she was doing something of note.

9. Many here thought it was a tea bagger. oops.

Mental illness has been the conclusion with gun massacres and all kinds of things. Most don't like to prejudge. We need to wait and see what becomes of this.

When I went to it the Post-Dispatch did not have a pic of the alleged perp. The Daily Mail did (http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3297177/Man-arrested-string-St-Louis-church-fires.html), and it explains 1SBM's consternation. I confess amusement that the race-baiter conspiracy-theorists who assumed the fires were all the work of one, racist, person are now separating those believed to be the work of this (black) firebug from those not (yet) attributed to him.

And if all the fires are linked to this firebug (race is irrelevant, the dude's a pyromaniac)? Race-baiter conspiracy-theorists will proclaim this dude scapegoated-because-he's-black. Race-baiter conspiracy-theorists gotta bait and expose faux-conspiracies! Facts that contradict race-based conspiracies are racist!

Damage to the struggle will be incalculable.

Here DUmmie Dale Scott, is how you win the "struggle" in a few, EASY steps:

1) DON'T wear your pants around your thighs.
2) BE RESPECTFUL of police and other authorities, including teachers.
3) STUDY in school. You aren't "acting white" by getting an education.
4) GIRLS - keep your legs together
5) GRADUATE - Go to college or trade school (which nowadays, has better paying careers).
6) If you don't graduate, take a job, any job. Show up on time, do more than is expected, learn, grow then
get a better job. Work your way up.
7) DON'T spend your money on "bling". Save it, invest it. Use it to build a better life.

Do the above DUmmies, and you'll find there isn't much of a struggle. But you won't, because, well, you're DUMMIES.

Sounds like the Hispanic half and the black half got into some type of internal struggle regarding who ruled the most profitable street corner and one half decided to take the other half out by committing some crimes trying to frame the other.

I strongly suspected the whole operation was a false flag ops to discredit whites and further accusations of white racism.
A victim card played in conjunction with the race card.

IOW, follow the example of MLK, not of Malcolm X. MLK won through non-violent, respectful, civil disobedience, holding the moral high ground. Malcolm X did NOT win "by any means necessary".

But that won't work today, because MLK wanted those who aligned with him to have content in their character, not color in their skin...

If a white guy had been setting the fires, he would have been a racist.

Since it was a black guy setting the fires, he's "mentally ill".

I wonder what is David Lopez Jackson's DU name is.

I suspect he was trying to foment a race by burning Black churches following Michael Brown's death.
