Dogs, (unless perchance it's a man who rescues any helpless animal)

Heh, heh. Seriously, this is the mark of a truly decent man.
Although my dear husband tops him, since besides being the love of my life, he tolerate our 4 rescue dogs and 8 rescue cats. :heart:
Enjoy the article, and remember, the witch he is currently attempting to wring one iota of truth out of would as soon deliver dogs and cats to those who would beat them to death to tenderize the meat or microwave them for sheer cruelty as to actually do anything humane.

It's a sweet article about how a good hearted family has taken 3 dogs into their lives and I could only futiley wish that O'Bastard and his selfish, status conscious sow of a spouse had led the way in this nation to adopting those who have no voice except the plaintive woofs and meows as they await SANCTIONED murder?
OTOH, what the ****ing hell else would we expect from the leader :bird:of a party that celebrates mass murder? Since these devoid of scruples apes in human clothing rejoice in the murder of human babies who are unfortunate enough to not have been delivered into this world if the mother is inconvenienced by her babies' temporary residence in her womb (and make no mistake that this baby was in 99% of the cases nothing more than an inconvenient clump of cells engendered by her own sluttish behavior and that of her temporary partner's) WHY would any of us with morals and scruples question their reluctance to set an example by rescuing any inconvenient animal?
I KNOW who the true animals are and they have a D after their cursed names, may they all forever after be as infamous as any other foe of decency and humanity.

I think you can tell alot about a person's character by how they treat animals. Wow, you have 4 dogs & 8 cats, that's amazing!
I didn't always understand how lovely dogs are (I like cats, too, but I'm allergic); we never had any growing up.
We were fortunate to get a CCI (Canine Companions for Independence) dog as a companion for our son. If I could ever figure out how to post a photo, I'd show you how beautiful he was. Bevi (a black lab mix) was the love of our lives. You couldn't ask for a kinder, more gentle or more loyal dog. He loved our autistic son & when he got agitated, Bevi was right there to calm him down. He would hug & kiss him & it always made him feel better. He was the love of our lives & we miss him everyday. Very sad, he passed away last October, 2 months shy of his 14th birthday.
Right around that time, new neighbors moved in with their Great Dane. It helped ease the loss of our Bevi. Whereas Bevi was very calm, Lexi was the opposite...but sweet as pie. I became her "Aunt" & loved her to pieces; sadly, as quickly as they were here, they moved last week.
When they show those photos on TV about helpless, abused animals, I can't watch it. Such cruelty I'll never understand.

I cry so hard for the animals. More so than some people, mostly because adults often contribute to their own problems. My husband has forbidden me from volunteering at any shelters since that's how we got so many critters. I am allergic to cats and dogs but got the shots for 7 years, so it's better.
Right now my husband is on a business trip to Alaska so I have even more kitty company in bed than usual. They sure keep the sheets warm! It's as good as a bunch of hot bricks now that the weather's turning chillier.
Belle, I have no clue how to post pics online either. I wouldn't be up and running on the computer at all if it weren't for my hubby and kids! Heck, my 6-year old grandson has more tech savvy than me!
I think it's so neat you had a Canine Companion for your son. I think you have so much love in your heart and out there is another dog waiting to be rescued and be a friend for your boy. Just having a dog or cat around is so good for any child, imho.
Bevi sounds like he was lovely and I know how much it hurts when our beloved pets die on us. That's the downside of having them; they leave us too quickly. Unfortunately, I've had alot of these cats now since my husband PCS'd to Arizona in '03 and I went to the pounds around here...cats live a little longer than dogs on average but I have no clue how many years my babies have left since most were adult rescues.
If you like to read romantic thrillers with a canine hero/heroine paired up with a human one, may I recommend D.D. Ayres? I'm on my third book by her and it has Samantha, a labradoodle paired up with a wounded, PTSD veteran. Of course along the way they will meet a damsel in distress, complete with a villain ex-fiance and shady politicians. Just keep your tissue box nearby!

I'd love another dog, but he'd have to be trained. I know that sounds kind of harsh, but my son isn't as easy going now, than when we got Bevi. He also has several medical issues going on, like diabetes, & he can't tell me when he's going low. I thought about going back to CCI for another dog, but I think traveling to Florida, & staying 2 weeks for training would do us all in. I sometimes thought about looking into this (http://hamptonroads.com/2011/08/canines-trained-help-people-diabetes). I will check out that author, thanks!

Belle, I hope there is another organization out there, perhaps closer to where you live, that can assist you in locating another canine best friend for your son.
I would totally fail at dog training, which is why I just bought a new sofa to replace the one the pups have destroyed!
