Does anyone here have family or friends that are Republicans?

Do you consider them "enemies" or just having wrong beliefs in regards to politics?

Have you tried to sway them toward Democratic, populist, progressive or liberal beliefs and did you have any success?

noun, plural enemies.
1.
a person who feels hatred for, fosters harmful designs against, or engages in antagonistic activities against another; an adversary or opponent.
2.
an armed foe; an opposing military force:
The army attacked the enemy at dawn.
3.
a hostile nation or state.
4.
a citizen of such a state.
5.
enemies, persons, nations, etc., that are hostile to one another:
Let's make up and stop being enemies.
6.
something harmful or prejudicial:
His unbridled ambition is his worst enemy.
7.
the Enemy, the Devil; Satan.

Corruption is the enemy of development, and of good governance. It must be got rid of. Both the government and the people at large must come together to achieve this national objective.

17. I run into that as well, people who are sick of the Reps but would rather die than vote Democratic.

But also ran into some Republicans during '08 who though the party was so off the rails that they felt it was a civic duty to vote for Obama.

Yeah right.

10. My brother is a Republican. He is not my enemy.

We have had spirited discussions, but I never tried to change his mind. If he wants to look at things I've told him and the facts I've shown and reevaluate his politics, that would be fine. If he doesn't, I good with that, too.

In fact, I don't consider Republicans the enemy. I disagree with the party on fundamental issues. We are opponents not enemies.

Facts? Yeah right.

14. Yes. Various friends and relatives

I sometimes debate with them. Other times, I refuse to listen - don't think they should spoil holidays and family dinners with their politics - I don't bring up mine. I sometimes make a remark here and there, especially if they are being ridiculous.

Only Dummies spoil holiday meals.

16. My Republican family members know I feel they support the oppression of women....

and are an enemy to my rights. We do just fine around the Christmas table.

Dick Cheney is one of the most evil people to ever occupy this earth. I truly mean that. There are plenty out there just as evil, he amassed power. That combination is brutal.

You forgot Bush.  :whatever:

My knowledge of Richard Cheney--on a first-name basis--is ancient history, from when he was a congressman from Wyoming, but I imagine he's still the same as he was way back then, one of the nicest guys one can ever hope to meet.

I suspect the primitive just has a problem with nice people.

Write in Joe Biden's name, that is how he feels also. Hillary has declared Republicans to be her enemies. That bitch needs to rot in jail.

I considered it my civic duty to investigate all I could find on Hussein T. Lightbringer.  48 hours later, I was convinced that anyone would vote for that piece of shit was insane.

I have two sisters who are Republicans.  I used to have a brother and yeah, he's the enemy.  He married a Mexican American (no big deal as my first spouse was also one) BUT he abdicated his sense of self to the white oppressor mentality and last I heard his daughter was big into La Raza and only identifies with her Mexican half.  So **** them all, but they live in Texas and so does one of my sisters.

Yep, I consider anyone who voted for Obama twice my enemy.  They've managed to **** my country six ways to Sunday and for that I will never forgive them.

He supports gay marriage and did long before the SCOTUS ruled on it.

And if you ask why they hate him so much, most can not give you an actual reason why.  They just spit out the usual libtard lies and talking points they heard on the Madcow show.
