MSNBC just reported that Jim Webb is thinking about running as an independent.
I seriously hope he doesn't do this. Unlike in 1992, when Perot took equally from both candidates, Webb would probably take more votes from the Democrats.
And you know that GOP donors would make sure that he was well-funded.
Jim probably realizes the fix is in for Hillary. Also- remember the glee the DUmp Monkiez felt when they thought Trump would run as an Independant?
:-)

1. I think he'd take equally from both major party candidates... which is to say, zero.

6. Actually, I think he would take more votes from moderate republicans, at least those that still exist
...wait... are you saying there are no moderate democrats?

9. Webb is far closer to being a republican than he is to being a Democrat
Third party runs take a ton of work and money. It will be interesting to see how much the Kochs donate to Webb to help him get on the ballot

13. If the GOP nominates somebody like Trump he would hurt the GOP more than Dems because there would be some more moderate/independent republicans who couldn't stomach voting for Trump and couldn't bring themselves to vote for the democratic nominee.
Against Hillary? Doubtful.

17. we can only lose votes to this guy if he is on the actual ballot... lets see how that goes for him

I find it near impossible to believe any Marine could be a lib.
Zell Miller is the prototype Marine Democrat to be if you're going to be Marine Democrat.

Perot took equally from both in 92?
Why can`t they ever just accept the truth?

The idiots will twist every which way to bend a story their way.

If Webb had thrown grenades at his own troops instead of throwing them at Communists, Democrats would love him.

16. So...Bernie has been attacked since he's independent running for democratic nomination but has ruled out running as spoiler. But,webb an actual democratic, although a DINO,is threatening to run as independent.Tells you who the real dem is.
Hillary?

I would vote for Jim Webb, independent, way before I voted for some of the sad sacks running on the Republican side. I am voting for MY best interests, and those of my nation, irrespective of party affiliation. Blind adherence to a letter after someone's name gets us no where, it seems to me, except more of the same mediocre shit we've been ushering in to our White House for a long time.

when Perot took equally from both candidates,
::) Bullshit.

Every. Time.

Of all the (D)'s I could sorta live with it, but I'll never vote for one.

I still don't know why he changed from R to D, but he was at one time a R and by golly, what difference does it make what letter is after his name when it's his ideas that count!
Although, yeah, he's piss poor on illegal immigration. And that's my major breaking point, because as Ann Coulter says in Adios, America! what does it matter to talk about anything else if we have no border controls?

He's the only sane guy on the whole Dem slate, and I agree he's better than some of the ding-dongs down in the low end of the GOP field (Like Graham), but he just doesn't present all that well and US Presidential politics being what they are, any campaign of his under any flag is doomed.
