Title: Paris train hero Spencer Stone critically stabbed in Sacramento: reports

 An Air Force medic who helped thwart a terrorist attack in France is in critical condition after being repeatedly stabbed, reports said.

Spencer Stone, 22, was stabbed in Sacramento, where he’s stationed, NBC and CBS News reported.

No further details were immediately available. He was described as being in stable condition.

SO, the question is random crime or someone responding to jihad?  Either way, good luck and prayers for Spencer and his family.  Hope the cops find the perp ASAP.  Drill him a few times before they take him in for questioning also; that would be righteous justice. :-)

Gotta go walk the dogs, but will catch up with the latest in awhile.  Hope there's good news for the Stone family and the cops by the time the pups drag my ass back home.

The suspects, described as two male Asian adults in white T-shirts and blue jeans, fled the scene in a 2009-2012 dark Toyota Camry, police said at a press conference.

I read somewhere -- mighta been Yahoo -- that as the attack occurred outside of a local tavern, alcohol was involved.

This article (http://www.scpr.org/news/2015/10/09/54948/sacramento-police-say-woman-slightly-injured-in-fr/) has an update and some further info about this stabbing. The bottom line for Stone is that he is recovering.

Speculating a bit along with reports I've heard, it sounds like Stone and his group got into a dispute with some other group, possibly over members of the other group hassling the woman who was part of Stone's group, and Stone was standing up for her. That part of Sacto is a downtown area fairly close to the Capitol. It's not among the better parts of Sacramento (but there are worse, not too far away), and it draws all sorts of people for nighttime dining, drinking, and such.
