Democrats far better than Republicans at grammar
I wonder how many mistakes McCarthy or Bush make per 100 words.
http://www.sfgate.com/politics/article/Democrats-far-better-than-Republicans-at-grammar-6554179.php
A new study analyzing the grammar of comments posted on presidential candidate Facebook pages finds that Republicans tend to butcher the English language at twice the rate of Democrats.
The study by the grammar-checking app Grammarly found that GOP supporters made an average of 8.7 mistakes per 100 words compared to 4.2 mistakes for Democratic supporters.
The Dems also had the bigger vocabulary, with 300 unique words used on average compared to 245 for Republicans.
Broken down by candidate, the trend becomes even more pronounced.
The five Democratic candidates — Lincoln Chafee, Jim Webb, Bernie Sanders, Martin O'Malley and Hillary Clinton — all scored higher (in that order) than every Republican except Carly Fiorina.
For the purposes of this study, we counted only black-and-white mistakes such as misspellings, wrong and missing punctuation, misused or missing words, and subject-verb disagreement. We ignored stylistic variations such as the use of common slang words, serial comma usage, and the use of numerals instead of spelled-out numbers.
..........................................

Now that is funny!!!

Guess Donald Trump is too busy making money to worry about his grammar. I notice the article comes from some rag in San Francisco, sanctuary city to murdering illegals. Nice going...you'd rather make a federal case out of people's elocution than the illegal criminal who murdered Kate. It really doesn't pay to be a white person or a conservative in one of America's filthy cesspools of enlightened and educated demorats, does it? Nothing proclaims a group's intelligence :whatever: more than allowing a rampaging gang of criminal aliens free grazing rights to your taxpayers' lifeblood, both literally and figuratively. ****wit liberal logic.

One post on DU or article written by Nads completely destroys the premise of that article.

There are a few good comments at the linked sfgatedotcom article.

A lot of the poor righties can't even pronounce "Democratic."
The primitives should be ashamed of themselves that none of them thought of that one.

So the "Speak English or Die" demographic doesn't actually know the English language very well. Quite the shock.
Pick up the slack DUmmies. These sfgate lefties are coming up with some real zingers.

While Republicans are worse at grammar, there's no arguing Democrats are worse at math. For proof, just look at our unsustainable pensions and social programs.
Score one burn for my side.

lol Our liberal friends will do ANYTHING to make themselves FEEL better, won't they!?!
Go ahead, children, and take a moment to pat yourselves on your backs. When you've done that, I want each of you to place a gold star on your foreheads. Please use the large stars this time - we want the Evil Republicans to know just how cool we really are.
Now, about those House races...
Walt nailed it.

FWIW, SFGate is the major newspaper in SF, the Comical (Chronicle). I understand the need for clear communication and respect it when I see it, but these Grammar Nazi expeditions are basically ad hominem attacks - irrelevancies intended to avoid speaking to the ideas of the one(s) attacked.

Was this analysis confined only to supporters or did it include critics? After a brief desultory foray into FB several years ago I have never returned, but unless much has changed, public figures attract both positive and negative comments.
The conclusion may seem satisfying, but is the methodology sound?
Exactly. Hateful liberals will make more posts on republican candidate pages than on democrat pages. I'm guessing most of those grammatically wrong or error filled posts were hate-filled diatribes from DUmmies and other leftists.

Well I can tell you that another trait of high IQ people is their grammar. Man, the DUmp is a wealth of high IQ knowledge.

Anectdotal (that means based on my personal experience, DUmmies) I find that my friends on the left mangle language more than conservatives do. Apparently this survey didn't go into poorer neighborhoods where leftist deliberately dumb down education because they need a permanent underclass. But the left always has pump themselves up. Sensitive little egos and insecurity is not pretty. Evidently passing out participation ribbons doesn't raise self esteem. When all you have is rage, self pity and dependence on a government that doesn't give two shits about you, you need these brief, superficial ego bumps. Pathetic, really.
Besides, conservatives have better sex lives, I'll take that over a few mangled words any day.

Well, they definitely are better at making up totally-bullshit stats that make them think they are smarter than everyone else, I'll give them that.

I don't know about grammar but as far as punctuation is concerned female Proglodytes are always on their period and Proglodyte males are always looking to use a colon.

If it wasn't for colons, male DUmmies wouldn't get any at all :cheersmate:

I spent last weekend visiting my ex-wife in San Fransisco, first time I have been there since 1994. The place is an absolute cesspool, even the tourist areas like the embarcadero and Fisherman's Wharf are completely overrun with hyper-aggressive homeless scumbags. Downtown is much worse, $40 to park your car for two hours and you have to walk through pools of piss and sidestep piles of shit to get to a decent restaurant, Mombasa Kenya is cleaner and it smells better. I can't imagine how anyone that lives there can still believe the liberal lies.

Without logic, grammar means nothing.

Democrats far better at grammar than Repubs.......need a verb (are) in there, sparky.
I wonder how many mistakes Bush or McCarthy would make per 100 words. ....need a question mark at the end of the sentence, Dummy, rather than a period.

His reference to Mombasa aside - I've not been there - JS is not in the least exaggerating. Been there, smelled that. In addition ... I've walked by a small park in SF - my son was running a marathon in SF - in the pre-dawn hours. The grassy areas were covered with sleeping homeless. I've not seen it in person, but news reports of park sandboxes being unsafe for children due to used needles in the sand have been common. The Stuporvisors had to pass an ordinance requiring people who are nude below the waist to put towels under them when they sat on restaurant or bar chairs/stools.

Makes me nostalgic for the good old days when restaurants had signs that said no shirt no shoes no service.
Well, they still have those signs in the sane parts of America--probably a thing of the past in San Fransisco.

I guess they didn't count the Ebonics and Spanglish speakers in this study...
..."If I had a son, he would speak like Trayvon..."

Between its insane driving and parking mess and its political & moral loony-toony-ness I've intentionally gone to SF as seldom as possible since moving to Silicon Valley in 1978. Even including necessary medical-related trips to UCSF Hospital I don't think I've been to SF as often as once a year, and maybe not even once every two years.
SF threw away its morals and mind 4 or 5 decades ago. When it became clear, in the late 70s-early 80s, that the major vector for the spread of AIDS was the bathhouses, which had long been dens of casual promiscuous gay sex, then-Mayor Diane Feinstein couldn't summon the minimal sense (the word "common" would be utterly incorrect if applied to SF) and political courage to shut the places down. Her failure to do this probably cost hundreds of lives, directly, and God only knows how many thousands or tens of thousands more, down the chains of transmission.
SF is in a naturally beautiful place, but Liberal-Progressive political policies have made it an open sewer pond.

I'll start being jealous when leftists actually get thier shit together like many conservatives. Considering the fact that most are ineffectual losers sitting on an unused and debt heavy education, I'm not too concerned about any grammar victory. I'll take providing for my family over a useless ego victory any day. Of course, should we examine the matter more carefully we can always point to the 'award winning' word salad of one nads for starters.

Can't really add much to this. I'm a courier here in the Bay Area (BTW SVPete, if you see a white Toyota Tacoma with UltraEx on it's side, it might be me) and dread every time dispatch gives me work going to or coming from San Francesspool because of what you posted.

They also have worse impulse control, are more prone to addiction and are generally more self destructive.
I'll take poor grammar skills any day over those problems.

I have a lot of fond memories of San Francisco.
The city was very pleasant then, but my last time there was in the early 80's.
The movie Pacific Heights, and one of my favorite TV shows...Monk showcase the city in every way I remember.
I would be heartbroken to go back there and find it in the disarray SV and JakeStyle refer to.
