I know I can't stand the average liberal, so I at least figured this was a better bet. xD Pro-life, ALL life, from unborn babies to giant redwoods, pro-LGBT and other civil rights, but not to the point of Affirmative Action or forcing churches/businesses to violate their own code, pro-weed and any other plants God made, strongly anti-pharma, Ob amacare, Common Core, TSA, NSA, NATO, UN, this whole damn decade, etc, and pro-guns. Essentially I wish to go back to a small tribal-level society where we live alongside nature and take care of ourselves and our loved ones. xD So do I belong here?

We've got room for everybody -- we even are entertained by liberals from time to time.
I work in pharma, by the way.
Just sayin'. :whistling:

Not to be insulting but conservatives are clear thinkers who are usually capable of expressing their thoughts clearly in the written form.
I found your writing to be disjointed and confused, so to answer your question, there is only about an 8% chance you are a conservative based upon my initial analysis of your writing.
Anyway, welcome.

You sound young. A libertarian for sure. I'm sort of like you, but I don't dislike big pharma. There's alot of people walking around today who wouldn't be here without major drugs. Actually I use both big pharma products and herbal and homeopathic remedies. I am all inclusive that way. :-)
It'd be nice to kick the UN out of New York City. I was busy yesterday but caught something on the news about some big bribery scam involving the ex president Ban Ki Moon? They're like our do nothing Congress on steroids because of sucking down only American taxpayer dollars, they siphon off monies from all nations to redistribute among themselves. Yeah a little bit goes back to charities; I'm pretty sure the Clinton Foundation was inspired by the UN's example. Oh yeah and they fall all over themselves to scold Israel, so they can go **** themselves in Switzerland or Saudi Arabia.
Anyway, welcome.

I have difficulties clearly expressing thoughts because I'm mildly autistic and on a flip phone with horrible web page formatting. If it weren't for the latter, I'd reply to each individual post, but I think my answers are clear enough indicators as to which statements they respond to. As for my stance against the pharmaceutical industry that is being questioned, there's also a lot of people who would still be walking around and with good quality of life if it weren't for all the toxins we put in our bodies. A temporary fix isn't worth a lifetime of continuously compounding health problems. All that aside, if you still believe in the intelligence of a several-thousand year old species over billions of years of unseen physics, chemistry, and biology we can't even begin to understand, then the pharmaceutical industry can at least take the some of the blame for overpopulation and subsequent problems. Oh and if we're all about clear thinking here, I'd like to see the math behind that 8%.

Without modern medicine I'd be dead at age 26 and so would my firstborn. The quick and dirty C-section I received wouldn't have been possible without pharmaceuticals. With my cervical osteoarthritis, scoliosis, diabetes, hypertension, GERD and Barrett's, I owe, if not my life, then certainly its quality to modern drugs. I am sure there are people out there who are dead or have a shitty quality of life because of the drugs they've been given. For every one of them there are a dozen, like me, who thank God every day that HE gave some scientists the brains to turn granny's nostrums and potions into a life enhancing drug. Sucking on a willow bark branch wouldn't do a damn thing to help my really bad case of arthritis and my milder case of lumbar scoliosis...tell you what, I'll trade you and then you deal with what I have with Mother Nature's cures. I am going to assume that you speak from experience as someone who has lost someone you care about, or had their life diminished in span or quality. However, most of the time, people give informed consent for themselves, or their children, to receive pharmaceuticals. At least, I can't recall a doctor ever forcing me to fill a prescription, or the pharmacist to come chase me down and cram the pills down my throat.
And why would the pharmaceutical industry take the blame for overpopulation? The pill cut way down on unplanned pregnancies. Look around the world and you will discover that the overpopulated areas are filled either with those whose religion forbids contraception, or those who are too poor and/or ignorant to control their birth rate.

I don't see how big pharma is to blame for the crap we for the most part voluntarily put in our bodies. To the contrary, big pharma helps to ameliorate many of the problems we cause ourselves by poor choices.

Not to mention the crap we inherited (THANKS, Mom and Dad :-)).

I support big pharma, because big pharma supports me :-)

This post reads just fine to me. Suggestion - don't blame autism or any other condition for your communication problems, should they exist. Most of the time, just proofreading what you've written will take care of any errors.
That said, I've been associated with pharma of all sizes and all throughout the process from discovery to different levels of clinical trials to scale up to finished drug manufacture. Each step of that way has to show that the drug is safe and effective, otherwise FDA doesn't approve it.
Now, I'm not going to try and bullshit you or anybody else to suggest that FDA isn't yet another government bureaucracy full of politics and politicians thinly disguised as scientists. Of course it is. But FDA's mandate is to ensure that the drug products approved for use in this country have passed rigorous testing and validation before they're approved.
Go to a 3rd world country and take some of their drugs. You might be surprised at what you find.
If you survive.
No well in hell am I going to blame pharma for "overpopulation." You sure you haven't been drinking the Kool-Aid? :whatever:

So do I belong here?
Don't violate the Rules of The House and you won't have any problems.
But, be warned, posting at The Cave can occasionally be a full contact sport that doesn't fit most of the thin-skinned sissies that haunt the internet. We're very honest people, and not prone to entertaining any kind of tom-foolery or whining.

I love how this turned into a medical debate. xD On one hand, the lack of understanding of the intricate wiring of ourselves, our ecosystem, and the greater reality of the cosmos always kinda saddens me. Alas, I stopped trying to change the minds of people outside my circle a long time ago, so on the other hand, the number of people with values otherwise similar to my own, and more importantly the same bluntness, goes to show I'll probably fit in here just fine. :P Or at least as much as an asshole like me can or wants to fit in.

Okay, why not temporarily drop the big phama issue, which developed from our initial back and forth, so far as I can ascertain, and change the subject? I, for one, would like for you to expound a bit on what you and your inner circle consider the greater reality of the cosmos.

I don't know about the kid, but the greater reality of the cosmos can be expressed in four words:
Bacon
Boobiez
Beer
Pie
All of the internecine fighting in Man's history comes from the order of the Four Words.

This is the kind of arrogance that does, indeed, paint you as an asshole.

Dude, I am NOT into the Boobiez. And I prefer wine and cake to beer and pie. BUT let's find the common ground on a mountain of crispy flavor drenched BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAcon.

Welcome to the cave.
Glad to have you onboard.
Hope your stay is long and profitable.
As for you being conservative, I have asked myself a similar question myself.
What I have learned is that on a per issue basis, if I don't know which side to support, I just watch what the dyed in the wool libs do...then do the opposite.

Welcome! :cheersmate: From what you stated you are more conservative than some Republicans in Congress who call themselves Republicans....perhaps you are more of an Independent or Libertarian which is certainly not at all a bad thing. You at least know what you believe in and stand for rather than follow the liberal mental midget mentality all in the name of political correctness. I consider myself a conservative because I am very much first and foremost pro-Constitution. I believe that our 2nd amendment right is the most important right that we have and without that right we will have NO rights. I am very much pro Christian, pro military and pro liberty. I am very much for the restoration of our Republic under the Constitution and the morals, fundamentals and principles upon which this country was founded that made this country great. I am anti-gay, anti-LGBT, anti-Common Core, anti-IRS, anti FDA, anti-Obamacare and the rest of the ridiculous government regulations. I believe we ought to abolish those organizations. I believe in FAIR trade rather than FREE trade and that NAFTA was a huge mistake that has all but destroyed the middle class.
However, I too am anti-pharma -- to an extent. Surgeries and drugs have helped to increase life without a doubt there have been some absolute miracles (with the help of God) performed. However, from my own experiences, I have found that prescription drugs wreak havoc on my body thus requiring yet another prescription drug to combat side affects. I have found herbs and vitamins to be much more effective and even healing. If something can be treated surgically, I have found that much more beneficial than pumping my body full of unnecessary substances.
