My family is in danger of a known sex offender
basically what can we do if the police have already been called and told that the guy has been hanging out with the family dog and feeding it (likely getting the dog friendly so he can intrude without problems) and the best the police can say is "he's probably trying to help"
it's a bad neighborhood and they just moved in to this house, what can be done now that the police are so flippant about it?
based on light description of the guy from family, my wife looked him up in the registry and gave them the link to the photo and they're not 100 percent sure it's the guy, but hey this offender lives around the corner from them. they have a 9 year old daughter and this is freaking us all out.

UPDATE: BETTER INFORMATION
Sorry for being fast and vague so here's the details.
A week ago, a large bald black man was found outside playing with the family dog of my sister in law's family. He released the dog from it's kennel without meeting them or asking for permission and was just playing with the dog.
Racist.

sex offender recidivism is 12%--that's for all crimes. 2% of that 12% are for new sex offenses--the other 98% are for drug dealing and property crimes in large part due to their inability to find work.
Yes, it is a matter of statistics. The registry doesn't work.

I would say, this guy letting someone else's dog out of its kennel and playing with it, without the family's permission, is a huge red flag and the fact that he is on some sex offender registry makes it all the more creepy.
I also question Nuclear Dem's recidivism rate theory for pedophiles but it would have to be something I need to research more. My understanding is pedos can't be cured, or normally aren't cured.
But yeah, other than making fun of the OP for belonging to a site that condones pedophilia while expressing fears for someone who definitely doesn't mind violating other people's borders, I would tend to the side of concern.
But, I wouldn't ask for help from the DUmp.

I have the same understanding as you with regard to the sex offender recidivism rate. I don't know where these libs find all the cover they use to defend sex deviants.

I'm not in the habit of taking advice from someone who doesn't know the difference between then and than.
And no, in this case I don't attribute the usage as an oversight or a typo.
In this case it's a perfect example to illustrate how people who think they are smart enough to Lord their superior intellects over others they consider to be inferior...invalidate themselves.

I once read where a study showed that pedophiles suffered 100% recidivism. Chemicals don't work. Castration don't work. Best thing for them is throw them out in the prison general population. One of the three major gang elements will correct the situation.
