whassup lounge?
i'm just hangin around, swimming in my little sea of bullshit, gettin through the days.
was super looking forward to taking a art class w my youngest. she is working on a drawing certificate from the school of the art institute, continuing studies. great little department in a great school.
she is working on becoming a tattoo artist, and wanted that piece of paper.
the fall class we were gonna take was portrait drawing, which i was super looking forward to.
but the poor kid tripped over her own feet and broke 6 bones in one foot. took an mri to show the breaks after a month of hobbling around on a badly swollen foot.
she may or may not need surgery, but she def is not in any shape to be schlepping around at school on top of the apprenticeship that she is doing.
other than that, things are going. recently adopted 3 parrots. fun times. one is plucked to death, but i think she will break out of it here. the other 2 are former breeders, not tame, but getting quite attached to me.
i have one more parrot that is also a rescue.
my little farm is doing fine in spite of a terrible year for tomatoes. great year for chickens, tho. raised some truly beautiful chicks.
so, whaddup with you?

3. i have a pair of orange wing amazons, and 2 greys.
a timneh, and now a congo.
dont understand why the orange wings arent more popular. they are very sweet, and quiet by zon standards.
and yes, they will outlive me. my kids will have to figure out what to do w all my animals. i have 3 dogs, 6 budgies, and a backyard full of chickens, too.
if they want the house, they will have to take the critters. i dont worry about it. 3 of the parrots are already in their 20's. but they will still outlive me, tragic accidents aside.

11. hey, you
your poor kiddo, i hope she heals up quickly.
things here are pretty ok right now. i haven't had a cig in 18 days (cheated and had a few cloves a few days ago) despite some pretty strong cravings and work being miserable bullshit has made it that much harder.
we took an adventure to western nebraska last weekend and we're heading down to a funky little town outside colorado springs next weekend. husband grumbles about my adventures, but he's never told me no. he just drives where i tell him to drive and (mostly) stops where i tell him to stop, all so i can take pictures. i can't say how lucky i am that he is so supportive of my hobby.
head space has been pretty good, but i need to start getting my ass in shape. i am starting to really not like what i'm seeing in the mirror.

It's about time Big Mo checked in; for a while there, I thought she'd pulled a bravenak on us, being the victim of some sort of foul play by a Bernie bully.
And in the meantime:

"A funky little town outside colorado springs ". Sounds like manitou springs. Interesting little place, but infested with dope heads. She'll fit right in.

Maybe fizzy'll find the Training and Race Calendars pages here (http://www.halfmarathons.net/) helpful.

It sounnds like MoStinko has trained the youngest to succeed in today's world.
Drawing "certificate" from local Art School (check), tattoo artist as a career choice (check), broke foot as an introduction to learn boarding the "free stuff" band wagon (check). Nice job, MoStinko, you've trained à nother parasite
on society, a democRAT. :loser:

Frank, I think you meant to say you feared Big Mo was the victim of some sort of fowl play.
One day I expect the paranoid hypochondriac pinko to become the victim of foul play though, probably by some of her feathered or furry friends. There are DUmp denizens who seem fully capable of that sort of mayhem, one only need glance at their assorted photos mugshots they've kindly provided for our amazement over the years.

Speaking of a "a great pirate for Halloween" . . .
I can't get that image of the skeleton boning an other ribbed one of innocence. I know it's cut and dried, but it hurts all the same.

No doubt the unlucky progeny can expect many another broken bone as her pain is opiate manna to mamma, literally speaking that is. Poor kiddo can get by on ibuprofen because heaven knows, mo needs the painkillers for her imaginary ills a whole lot more than little mo needs real relief.
Look for the parrots to end up with broken feet and wings next!

A bottle a day, minimum, until the pain subsides. This is recommended for MoStinko, not the kiddo.

Mo's reference to a parrot rescue group registered on my BS meter, so I checked it out. Such groups do exist, and "Culinary Institute" is not part of their names.

Her poor neighbors. Not only do they have to deal with the health hazard caused by her "farm"/lot sized compost heap, the vermin attracted to it and the noise from the chickens but now they will have a bunch of parrots squawking at each other all day.

I immediately pictured in my head the scene from History of the World Part 1 where the crazy father in the dungeon throws his dead birds out the window.

What's for supper grandpaw?
Fresh fried parrot, already plucked. Greens from the weeds between the sidewalk and street. Large unwashed brown eggs from the fowl in the Van. Rotten tomatoes grown on rotten lumber and limbs. Peas from the garden so small they look like mashed potatoes. Ice tea made from oak bark and hot coffee made from day old used grounds.

"P" is silent for ptarmigan.

If she cooked it up in one pot, she would rival NJCher for the title of DU Chef!
