They are ok with suffering because suffering brings one to a higher spiritual value. That is why allowing suffering or even causing it is ok. It's God's will. Suffering is a shorter way to heaven. And besides suffering is a result of man's sin. And that logic is the kind of twisted logic they believe in.

What a hateful person.

DU really should limit TMN to posting in the cyber-equivalent of a padded room.
I guess TMN has never heard of The Salvation Army? Or that The Salvation Army is also a denomination with local congregations?
Never heard of World Vision?
Never heard of Compassion International?
Never heard of Catholic Charities?
Never heard of Mercy Ships?
Just off the top of my head ... local and regional Christian charities are myriad. And unlike government programs the administrative and fundraising over head is 30% or less; with government programs the administrative overhead is 70%-80%, basically the inverse of charities such as those I mentioned above.

The suffering (if any) Christians have caused, pales in comparison to the suffering pib/prog/socialists have caused.

He's probably heard of all of those--and dismissed them as racist and homophobic.

I'm sure your right, he's found some pretext - no matter how ludicrous - for dismissing them. He'd do better to point to the atheists' equivalents of The Salvation Army, Mercy Ships, World Vision, et al .......... if he could.

Actually, I tell, more clearly, what theologically conservative Christians do not believe in, that which TMN actually lyingly misrepresents hates. Theologically conservative Christians do not believe in using the power of government to force believers and non-believers alike to fund "charities" with 75% overhead to "fulfill" Jesus' "command"*!
* Jesus commanded charity, from His followers, personally.

I think you found the key to the argument. Christian conservatives do not support an atheistic socialist agenda, therefore we hate the poor.
The hatred openly displayed at DU continues to amaze me.

The thing that no prog will ever understand is that charity--freely giving from one's own pocket--benefits the donor as well as the recipient. When I have given to meet a need I see, I have felt blessed to be able to be part of that transaction.
I worked at a Christian non-profit, and we attempted to meet needs that the public welfare system didn't. Our funds were all private donations, and usually targetted to specific needs. Sometimes there were needs that fell outside of our own guidelines. I remember one time I wrote a $100 check to cover the cost of special order shoes for a client's big-footed teenager. Another time I bought a gas card for a family to visit a relative in a burn unit.
After I left that job, I went to work as a bank teller. One day a distraught young woman came in, wanting to take $$ from her father's account to pay for gas to be by her father's side after a serious motorcycle accident. Of course I couldn't do that, but I did reach into my own purse and gave her $50 to pay for gas to get there. She paid me back after everything was settled, but it was an experience neither one of us will ever forget.
Taxing people to put $$ into the greedy little hands of the perpetual hand-out crowd just pisses people off.

1. Fine--then let them donate all their money and worldly goods to the poor.
That way they can be REALLY noble and dignified and have loads of "spiritual value", and they can go to heaven in the express lane. I'll gladly sacrifice my ticket to paradise in the next world if I can have all their wealth and use it to help improve the lives of the poor here in THIS world.
This primitive expects us to believe that if he was rich he'd use the money to help others? You lie!

Paul tells us that Christian suffering, should it occur, builds character and teaches humility to Christians. He is not speaking to the world at large. God doesn't cause suffering, the world and sin causes suffering. Does God allow suffering? Yes he does, but He is not the cause. He allows it in believers to teach. He allows it in non-believers because they have rejected God. Christians will be comforted in their suffering but unbelievers don't have that hope.

Here's a little secret, Lyric. You have to be a believer to get a ticket, atheists are on their own.

The double-edged sword of free will which (D)Ullards, never take into account.

That's it exactly. According to DUmmies, all charity must come from the government. Failure to do so indicates a hatred for the poor, even if you support private charity with 30% of your income.
The open hatred is typical for liberals though. It shouldn't amaze you. After all, they are the party of tolerance and love (cough...cough).

Joe Wilson, is that you?

They want to be free from obligations to a Creator, but shake their fists at Him when they experience the natural, predictable, consequences of that "freedom". A least understand and "own" those consequences! Want to be "free" to indulge in promiscuous sex? Don't whine when you get a life-long STD! Want to play god? Don't be shocked when a Hitler or a Stalin takes that a bit farther than you would!
Has anyone heard when the St. Madalyn Murray O'Hair Children's Hospital opens? I know it suffered a set back when one of her disciples, ummmm ... killed her ... and stole her gold ... but surely other Christian-hating atheists have stepped up ... maybe the Freedom From Religion Foundation?
