- The United States said on Tuesday it had transferred Abdul Shalabi from Guantanamo Bay in Cuba to his home country of Saudi Arabia
The U.S. Defense Department has described the 39-year-old Shalabi as a member of al Qaeda and a longtime bodyguard for Osama bin Laden
In April, Shalabi's representatives urged the United States to transfer him to Saudi Arabia as soon as possible and said he is no longer a threat
Shalabi's representatives say he had been on hunger strike since 2005

Israel tamed (for the most part) the PLO Hamas and Hezbollah by taking out their top tier smart guys until there was really no one left. Or they jailed the ones they didn't kill.
The FBI eventually took down the mob as a major crime force in the U.S. by jailing all the "smart" guys in the Cosa Nostra and their street operators weren't bright enough to keep everything rolling.
We finally turned the tide against the Taliban and al-qaeda by imprisioning the top tier "smart guys" when we weren't killing them on the battlefield.
Now we are turning them loose. Intel operators...money men...major Taliban bad guys....Gitmo is just opening the gates and flying them home.
Imagine if the DoJ had just suddenly freed John Gotti after they finally managed to lock him up. What do you think would have happened with the Mob in NYC?
Same thing is about to happen with this administrations full speed ahead effort to empty Gitmo before the end of 2016.
