Geez! He doesn't realize the US has NEVER been a democracy?

As for campaign spending, why do I suspect the spending of his 1976 and 1980 campaigns, if converted to 2015 dollars, might put JEC's whine into a rather different light than he intended?

$200 million is barely enough to compete in the primary, try 3 to 4 times that for the general election.

Lest anyone forget, owebuma was very deceitful during his first presidential bid when it came to campaign financing.
He accepted a challenge from McCain for both candidates to use public financing.
It wasn't long after owebuma agreed to public financing that he broke that promise, and a promise to turn down special interest lobbyist monies.
