Pocket Knives - Do You Carry One?
I do. It's a Schrade Old Timer three-blade stockman's knife. It's in my pants pocket unless I'm flying on a plane or have to go through security at the courthouse. I use it, on average, once a day to do things like open taped-up cardboard boxes, clean my fingernails or cut something that needs to be cut. I've been carrying a knife like that since I was 12 years old, and when I was 12 years old, it was OK to carry a pocket knife, even at school.

So, do you carry a knife in your pocket or in your purse?

DUmmy brings a knife to a gunfight.
Good and decent people bring a knife and a gun... and a reload, a cell phone, and a light.

I usually carry two extra magazines. Two magazines on the opposite end of my carry belt helps to offset the weight of my piece.

you libs and your nanny state zero tolerance policies have put an end to that...

I always carried a pocket knife at school, and some guys carried the ones on belt sheathes. My junior and senior years, a hunter safety course was offered at school, and there was a trap shoot contest at the end of the course.
That was all held on the school grounds, and kids brought their shotguns to school on the buses. No one gave it a second thought.

Concealed carry, open carry and what schools had reciprocal agreements?
-
I've carried a Swiss Army knife since I was ten. About 5 years ago I lost that knife and it hurt my heart.
OAN, my knife collection is just a little bit bigger than my gun collection. Can you ever have enough guns, knives, ammo, or power tools? I don't think so.

I just picked up a Leatherman OHT. Nice unit.

A friend of mine used to buy boxes of hundreds of knives confiscated by TSA at airports all over the country.
Most were junk, but his cost per knife was peanuts.
He'd sort them out and sell the junk in bulk for flea marketers and put the better ones on eBay.

Ooops, that's a third one now.
Just as franksolich is one of only six or half a dozen people born and raised in Nebraska who's never personally seen a tornado or a live rattlesnake, I've never in my life owned and carried around a pocket-knife.
It's embarrassing to admit this, but probably even the big guy in Bellevue has seen both sights and carries that one thing around in his pocket.
Nothing against pocket-knives. It's just that if the fingernails need cleaned, God already gave one teeth to chew the white part off, or if something needs cut, well again, God gave one.....teeth.
<<<doesn't like carrying around stuff doesn't need.

I own a couple of knives, but I don't carry them.

No, you can't.
At least I can't.

That's what I say to my wife when I bring home a new 'toy' . . . that she finds out about.
Thinking about a S&W .38 Special J-frame now.

Tell her that you're adopting it, to be sure it goes to a good home.
It just might work!

Spyderco is the way to go. Just watch out for Spyder bites.
I carry an Endura SS tip down every day.

I'll stick with my black Buck. It serves me well and I think everyone should own one or two. :-)

It did work almost 11 years ago . . . But that was when we adopted our cat.
After she stopped laughing, I'm sure that she'd have some "colorful metaphors," as Spock called them, to add to her opinion.

Do you carry one?....NO....I carry three.

Gerber lock blade.
I got it as a hire anniversary present at my last job.
I'm afraid of it though.
I've heard that knives kill...just not as much as guns.
-
I have a Kershaw lockback I've carried for 20+ years now, bought it off the Snap-On tools man. 3 inch long knife with a 2.5 inch blade.
A few years ago, I was told at a concert event I was going to that I couldn't take it in with me. I was told to take it back to my car. I went around the corner, slipped it in my shoe, and came back in.
It's been with me to every concert I've attended ever since (over 20, including 2 more at this place!) Even got it past a metal detector wand, because they weren't wanding below the knees, and my wife's artificial hip distracted them! :rotf:

It has been 11 years since you used that excuse. I'd give it a shot!

That's a nice knife the DUchebag has. Not one I would carry as it is collectible. I have a few of the Walden models still in cellophane I would not part with. He is a DUchbag!
