"I'm at a loss for words."

How dire is the situation? One National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) climate scientist looked at the data and remarked: "I’m at a loss for words."

Summer 2015 set to be world's hottest ever as US temperatures again soar

US had its 12-hottest summer but seven of the warmer seasons were in last 15 years. With ocean temperatures rising, scientists warn: ‘It’s definitely not good’

New data showing that the US had its 12th-hottest summer on record may not, at first glance, appear particularly significant or alarming.

But in announcing the news, climate scientists have pointed out that, of the 11 American summers that were recorded as warmer than 2015’s, seven have occurred in the last 15 years; the other four were all during the “Dustbowl” 1930s heatwaves that plagued the US during the Great Depression.

And, as part of the climate warming trend globally, next Thursday a federal agency is set to announce the latest worldwide figures that are likely to show that it was officially the hottest summer ever recorded on the planet, and the hottest first eight months of the year to date.

- snip -

On Thursday it’s expected officially to be confirmed that the first eight months have been the warmest on record so far and the warmest three-month period June to August, constituting the hottest summer ever logged for the northern hemisphere.

Crouch pointed out that in the first seven months of 2015, worldwide figures had shown that the globe was almost a degree warmer than average and August figures are likely to have been boosted by the strengthening El Niño pattern.

“It’s extraordinary how much of the ocean is at record warm temperatures – about 75% to 80% of the world’s oceans are at record or near record warmth,” he said.

“I’m at a loss for words. It’s definitely not good.”

How bad is the climate change crisis? How at risk is the world? It's so bad and we are so at risk that the DUmmies do absolutely, positively nothing about it on their own. In fact, the biggest blowhard of them all uses it as a chance to boast again. (http://www.democraticunderground.com/10027166425)

I won't bother posting the usual DUmmy bullshit about climate change. I will expose this piece of shit:

And everyone there was saying how unseasonably warm it was, Cape Cod's waters were unusually warm, too, compared to previous years. California has water rationing.

And the deniers will all say it's no big deal, come the first snowflakes that fall in December.

Why are you worried about the deniers, Marc, when your carbon footprint is almost as big as your assprint? Lurking DUmmies, why is Marc allowed to crisscross the globe, having pictures of his fat ass and his ugly wife taken with other climate hypocrites? 'Ooooh, I was just in Cape Cod and they said it was hot! Then I was in Alaska and it was warm! Now I'm back in Germany and it's hot here, too! I'll be in Dallas and New York next week, and I'll see if it's warm there, too!'

Is climate change manmade, or isn't it? If it is, why is Marc allowed to travel the globe like he's, oh, Barack 0bama or someone? Why is Marc special? Oh, I know: he HAS to travel. He HAS to hawk baubles, bangles, and beads to rich people worldwide. He HAS to have his fat ****ing gut in pictures from Seattle to Gstaad, right?

Until ONE of you calls him out on his hypocritical bullshit, you all pretty much agree with me that this is normal variation in climate. Marc sure as **** does, or he wouldn't fly around so he can show you fake pictures and tell stories about worthless turd pseudo-celebrities.

I think DUmmy DFW is the DUmp's most loathsome braggart.

Unlike fellow braggarts Pitt and Pam Dawson, he actually has money.

Pitt and Pam are comical, while DFW is contemptible.

     "I was in Monaco, enjoying a beautiful Calotte de Boeuf with Engelbert Humperdinck and Jaye P. Morgan, when we saw a group of street urchins gather at the gate of the restaurant and beg for scraps of bread. After the photographer came and as I unbuttoned my lowest shirt buttons and my trousers, I said, 'Hunger is a crisis we need to act on, immediately.' And then the waiter came by with the roasted sea bass en papillote, all wrapped up, because I couldn't decide between the two. He devised an intricate mechanism that kept the fish warm and my chocolate bombe cool, so that it would keep until I got back to the hotel and could disrobe to enjoy it all properly. And on the way out, as I passed the urchins, I took care not to swing the bundle around so as to accidentally hit one of them. And as we did walk out, who appeared on the sidewalk, but Shmuely Kampfelsteinman, one of Eastern Europe's greatest lute players, certainly in the league of Milosz Scatamirowicz and Ernst Pumpeliniski, both of whom I jammed with on a recent trip to Prague, where we had to chase away a bunch of beggars to get to the venue, which by the way has the best abalone in Europe, which of course has to be flown in daily from Carmel. And speaking of Carmel..."

California has water rationing.

Is this twit this ignorant? Or playing on DU-folks ignorance. I know, not exactly mutually exclusive.

Having lived in/near CA for over 60 years, I can assure DFW of a couple of things. CA is usually dry all summer long (though summer 2015 ... wait! that's this year! ... has been wetter than average). Summer is part of CA's fire season.

In the 1970s the Enviros and some guy named Jerry Brown (why does that name sound so familiar?) brought construction of new reservoirs to a near halt (and new power plants as well, but that's another issue). CA's population and water usage have increased considerably over the past 40 years, but CA's reservoir capacity has not. Am I the only one who sees that as a recipe for disaster? Maybe even MIHOP? I suppose if I were posting this on DU I might be the only one to recognize and acknowledge it.

The average temperature in the lower 48 states for June to August 2015 was 72.7F (22.6C), 1.3 degrees above the 20th-century average, according to the latest data from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), where the records go back to 1895.

1.3 degrees. That's what these assholes are "concerned" about? What do you
want to bet it isn't even THAT high given where the data comes from.

When Antarctica touches Cape Horn and new Zealand the DUches will claim it is all AGW. Why just yesterday I was reading how AGW would be causing the natural mini ice age we are now entering.

So you see this scientific theory predicts:
1. The world will heat up and the oceans will rise.
AND
2. The world will cool down and the oceans will recede.

That's not science, that's a CULT.

For shits and giggles:  https://stevengoddard.wordpress.com/2015/09/09/arctic-has-gained-hundreds-of-miles-of-ice-the-last-three-years/

Every summer its the same. The Chicken Littles come out and say, "Its so Hot! Global warming!"

Warmistas don't think what our database is:

* A decent thermometer with a standardized scale has existed less than three centuries;

* Widespread temperature records for the Eastern US may have been logged for 2 centuries;

* Widespread temperature records for CA and AK may have been logged for 1- 1 1/2 centuries;

* Widespread temperature records for vast parts of the globe have been logged for less than a century, sometimes disrupted by WW1 and WW2;

* Data on Arctic, Antarctic, etc. ice extent go all the way back to 1979.

IOW, we have very little direct data older than a century, and none at all older than 3 centuries, yet Warmistas are making dire and specific predictions about a millennia-long phenomenon? My vocabulary is insufficient to express how absurd and ludicrous Warmistas' ideas and claims are!

Let me get this straight....Meteorologists can't accurately predict what the weather's going to be more than seven days in the future and I'm supposed to believe what some egghead predicts what is going to happen 75-100 years from now?

It's already been debunked.  They are massaging the data.  No warming over the last 17 plus years.  James Delingpole has written numerous articles, with linked proof lurking fingerpainters, over at Breitbart.

No dummie, much less a liberal, is going to believe anything at Breitbart. It would not matter if Einstien's ghost came back and proved the it was wrong, they will believe in it to their dying day. And they say religious people worship some myth.   :mental:

I read an article the other day, linked at Drudge, think it was NBC news, where all these third world countries are now demanding from the UN that first world nations pay for their natural disasters since they are caused by globull warming.  Now we are seeing the true motive and they are not even trying to hide it.

Read somewhere else that some PhD type in solar cycles is saying that we are heading to another mini ice age like happened back in the 1600's or so.

Here it is:

Ever? So the cavemen were keeping records? No? They only started keeping records in 1885? How again is that "ever"?

Dumbass.

48 degrees here this morning, high going to be mid 70's......felt good for awhile with just a shirt on, then I got a little chilly.

50 years ago tomorrow, it was 103 degrees at 1:00 in the afternoon. How do I know that? It was opening day of dove season and we were celebrating. A friend of mine had been drafted and he was leaving the next day for the ARMY.

Boy was it hot. We got drunk and started shooting at high flying doves. We ran out of beer later in the afternoon and began to sober up a bit.....then we discovered those weren't high flying doves, they were gnats..... :-)

In Wisconsin, we had one of our milder summers this year.

I'm guessing this is a crisis on infinite earths, but not my earth.

The other thing that comes to mind is, if this is one summer that was warmer, isn't that only weather?

Warmistas can't/won't distinguish between weather and climate. Nor do they (want to?) understand the meaning of "average".

Same here in MO.  Couple of hot weeks, rather than two and a half months of sweltering temps playing tag with the triple digit line like usual, and more rainfall to boot.  If this year was exceptionally hot, I'll take 30 more like it with pleasure.
