Kentucky clerk Kim Davis ordered released from jail [View all]
LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Kim Davis, the Rowan County, Kentucky clerk who was jailed after she defied the Supreme Court's ruling on same-sex marriage, has been ordered released.
A court order issued Tuesday says, "Defendant Davis shall be released from the custody of the U.S. Marshal forthwith. Defendant Davis shall not interfere in any way, directly or indirectly, with the efforts of her deputy clerks to issue marriage licenses to all legally eligible couples. If Defendant Davis should interfere in any way with their issuance, that will be considered a violation of this Order and appropriate sanctions will be considered."
Davis was ordered jailed by a federal judge last week on a contempt charge after defying several court orders. Her lawyers spent Labor day weekend filing appeals in an effort to force her release.
Davis stopped issuing all marriage licenses in June, the day after the U.S. Supreme Court legalized same-sex marriage nationwide. Two gay couples and two straight couples sued her. U.S. District Judge David Bunning ordered Davis to issue the licenses, and the Supreme Court upheld his ruling.

Before I get into this, lurking DUmmies: how many hundreds of times do you lecture us that jail is for violent criminals only? (http://www.democraticunderground.com/?com=view_post&forum=1002&pid=7149892)
Basically they cut her loose and told her to obey the law of the land, which she should do or quit (says me, anyway). What were they going to do, keep her in the joint forever? DUmmies don't even want child molesters locked up forever.

2. On what grounds is she ordered released?
I don't get it.
On the well-established legal precedent of GO **** YOURSELF, YOU BITTER OLD SKANK.

31. Wish they'd prosecute her on the misdemeanor state charge.
If she refuses to discharge the ministerial duties of her office, like issuing marriage licenses to ANY duly qualified couples, she is guilty of a state misdemeanor.
Um, asshole, they just proved they can't keep her locked up. What good is a misdemeanor? I bet you have a gaggle of them on YOUR record and you're still a worthless piece of shit.

23. $80,000.00 A YEAR SALARY AND SHE CAN'T DO HER JOB. With $35,000.00
AVERAGE FAMILY INCOME for Rowan County, Kentucky, surely they can find a better person to do the damn job than her. She should be impeached from office or just plain fired!
She's a Democrat in a union monkey government job. You should be beating off right now, liberal.

Ahh..liberal rage. It tastes like a warm brownie with a scoop of ice cream on top.

If she won't fulfill the obligations of her office for religious or moral reasons, she should resign or step aside from the function instead of obstructing the lawful function of the government (Agree with them or not). Of course the same is true for every government official involved in setting up 'Sanctuaries' for illegal aliens.

'Scanctuaries'
You misspelled "skanktuaries," although I don't know what CalPeg's house has to do with this.

Re-elect Kentucky clerk Kim Davis!!!!! :rotf:

Fixxteded. Skank you very much.

I wonder what her DUmp handle is?
She was ordered not to interfere with the deputy clerks. If she follows that order she's fine.
Democratics have a habit of abusing their elected position, so, nothing will change.
-
When these turd humpers get divorced and get a high priced lib lawyer what might this mean? I wonder?

It is an accepted practice to set virtually all insurance rates based on a risk profile.
Given the spousal rights associated to health and life insurance,if rump rangers are not rated accordingly then who do I sue under the equal protection clause?

The State Insurance Board, I would think.

We both know where that would go. :banghead:

And under ObamaCare those newly married bug carriers can't be charged more, so any lawsuit will be tossed.

She was released into a cheering crowd. The Kentucky Senate overwhelmingly passed a religious freedom bill today. Of course the DUmmies rage, she refused to obey liberal edicts and got away with less time served than an Occupier.
:cheersmate: to Kim! Bless you for standing up!
