The Harris County sheriff called the motive "madness" in the "calculated, cold-blooded assassination" of a deputy who was ambushed putting gas in his cruiser Friday night at a northwest Harris County service station.
"In my 45 years in law enforcement, I can't recall another incident so cold-blooded and cowardly," Sheriff Ron Hickman said.
Darren Goforth, 47, a 10-year veteran of the department, was gunned down at a Chevron station at Telge and West, after working a routine car accident about 30 minutes earlier.

Every week, a police officer gets shot and killed. This anti-police rhetoric needs to end.

A suburban Houston police officer who was ambushed at a gas station was shot 15 times, Harris County district attorney Devon Anderson said in court Monday.
Shannon J Miles appeared briefly in state district court in handcuffs and shackles and said very little, other than to answer the judge's questions. He is being held without bond and was appointed two attorneys.
Anderson read the probable cause statement during the hearing, saying that police received a call of an officer down at 8.20pm Friday. When police arrived at the gas station in the Houston suburb of Cypress, they found deputy Darren Goforth face-down.

Every week, a police officer gets shot and killed. This anti-police rhetoric needs to end.
It needs to begin with a strong message from the leader of this Nation reminding the Citizens that the Police are on our side. Too bad this Nation doesn't have a leader to deliver that message.

Sadly, He'll probably be treated like royalty by his fellow inmates. Cop killers are venerated by other prisoners in jail, I hear. Not so much by the guards, of course. But general population will make him a celebrity.

I agree, but sadly the death penalty has lost its meaning as well, when inmates can sit on death row for DECADES, costing the taxpayer MILLIONS of dollars, while appeal after appeal is filed for them by unscrupulous lawyers. I guess I'm just jaded about the chances of this idiot actually being executed. Thank liberals and their aversion to 'cruel and unusual punishment'.
What SHOULD happen to him is a public hanging. Executions aren't just there to punish the criminal, there is a social component to it as well. It shows the law-abiding citizens that justice has been served, and reminds the idiots who would think about doing this kind of stuff, what the ultimate cost of their foolishness will be.

True enough, I guess I've just grown cynical lately about the whole criminal justice system. Chances are, if he'd have done this in Detroit or Baltimore, he'd be celebrated by the local community. :banghead:

The Texas woman who garnered an unexpected national spotlight after tweeting that a Harris County deputy deserved to be executed was arrested in her home county on an assault warrant out of Houston. The arrest stems from a 2011 incident where she allegedly punched a former co-worker in the face causing bodily injury.
Montgomery County jail officials confirmed to Breitbart Texas that Monica Foy was arrested on Tuesday evening for an arrest warrant out of Harris County. The warrant was for a 2011 charge of assault with bodily injury, a misdemeanor charge. She was held for several hours and then released on a $1,000 bond in the early morning hours.
On Tuesday, Breitbart Texas revealed Foy had sent out a message on Twitter where she wrote, “I can’t believe so many people care about a dead cop and NO ONE has thought to ask what he did to deserve it. He had creepy perv eyes…†The comment appeared to be directed at the execution-style murder of Harris County Deputy Darren Goforth. The deputy was brutally murdered Friday night while pumping gas in his patrol car in northwest Houston.
