Defying the silence of ALS

X post in Chronic Health.
For those that don't know, some of my FTD symptoms gave warning signs of ALS. The specialist said I don't have ALS.

OS
Irrelevant stuff

It's about time.
Even if they don't have the Big Guy (who is dying)'s brain rot, DUmmies have the attention span of a walnut.
Many, if not most, have long ago forgotten that the Big Guy (who is dying) is dying.
It's been over a month since he last reminded them.
Maybe they'll start showing a little respect, at least until they forget again.
The Big Guy (who is dying) needs some software that will automatically post a reminder at the DUmp every couple of weeks, because he'll never remember to do it himself.

So - now OS has give or take 10 years left if he takes care of himself - bringing him to just shy of 70. - Of course that is running under the assumption that absolutely no medical advancements happen to combat his illness between now and then.

I think we need to start a death pool on which ailment eventually gets Steve.
I've got dibs on coronary heart disease.

Such a miracle cure will likely be...expensive, that means Steve who will be on Obama care will not get any cure...he's too old to justify the cost.

Unfortunately my pick would be old age.

I'd give better odds on an Alaskan salmon surviving its spawning run.
The Big Guy (who is dying) would need a massive weight loss to get down to the "morbid" level.
He's almost entirely sedentary.
His physical condition and lifestyle are a lot more quickly fatal than his boring, drawn-out brain rot.
Three to five years, tops.

Give or take 3 years.
I prefer take.

I'm going with GOBUCKS' speculation, because I've seen it way too often in real life.
But what irks me most of all about the big guy is his gross insensitivity to his wife, poor dear Marta.
By putting off dying, he's depriving her of the opportunity to, as a widow, scout around for a second husband, preferably one who'll treat her better than he did.
It's a lot easier to nab a second husband when one's 60 rather than 80.
