Title: primitives condone theft

I saw a woman shoplifting a dozen eggs from the supermarket.

She noticed me noticing, but she looked hungry and afraid, so I looked away and did nothing.

I don't like living in a nation where people are hungry and afraid.

I'm not going to ruin someone's life for taking a couple of bucks worth of eggs.

5. I would have looked away too -

Or did as bettyellen suggested . . . then invited her to my community kitchen and helped her get to the food bank.

Note - I'm actively involved in community hunger issues and I'm not 'picking at the look away'.  You have a good heart - and now you've seen what every day hunger in America looks like.

If you have a few extra dollars - canned tomatoes and pasta (when you can buy them in a 3 for $1 or 4 for $4) are huge in the north east food banks. And with apple season coming - if you drive by a bushel seller/farm - that's like gold to someone who is trying to eat. We don't get enough product.

7. I'd have told her to put the eggs in my cart plus any other staples she needed. No one should have to risk jail because they're hungry. No one should have stock stolen out of their stores by hungry people with no money.

Eggs are a real luxury food if you're poor. I had to rely on powdered when I baked during my poverty periods. Powdered eggs have the advantage of keeping for a very long time. They're just not great by themselves, scrambled, although they're edible.

9. I have done the same as you Hunter

These are the same kooks who tell us we as citizens should be upset because big multi-national corps are stealing from us. If they're willing to let someone steal from a store, then why should I be concerned about the thefts they believe are taking place?

Consistency and thinking ahead aren't exactly something that libs are good at doing.

Also, always love to note how many of them are willing to lend a hand or some money to others when they don't actually have to do anymore than claim that they would.

but but.. they're billionaires, they can afford it.. so it's OK to steal from them!

Little do they realize, when they steal, it raises costs for everyone... I'd have called the manager on the woman.

Agreed.  7 years of obama hasn't made the plight of poor people any better.  Hows that hope and change working out for you all?

stealing is now an entitlement for these DUmmies

Raise your hand if you think this really happened? Of all the things you could steal to eat, why eggs? Seriously, produce, bread, milk, yogurt, cottage cheese, flip top cans of tuna or spaghetti-o's, but eggs would be rather awkward to get out the door.

I would have quietly and gently taken the eggs from her and paid for them.

You can't save every starfish but you can save the one in your hand.

I think 75% of the people on welfare can work but won't but some can't.  Stealing eggs isn't the same as stealing beer.  And the DUmmie who suggested pointing her at local food banks had a good idea.

No shit. Here's what happened: the DUmmy was shopping and saw the price of eggs, which is now astronomical. When the proce of anything goes up, DUmmies think they're extra-entitled to it, so they concoct a story about someone righteously TAKING them, because we are all entitled to eggs. Their increased price increases our entitlement. Then they went on DU and lied about it.

How the hell does someone shoplift EGGS? Bull. Shit.

If I see someone robbing your house, I'll assume it's the cost owning a home and not say anything.

Yes they are and I live in the land of moonbats who will pay more for organic, free range eggs. Especially brown ones. Life is good.

More than likely the Dummie stole the eggs, got noticed or thought he/she/it got noticed, made it out the door OK and made this story up.

I have read stories of what people will steal in grocery stores... and how they steal it. Best one I ever read was about a lady that stole a ham by putting it between her legs, covered it with her dress and waddled out the door.   :lmao:

If true, I bet that was one stinky...  :bolt:

I used to work at a grocery store many years ago.  You wouldn't believe the things people would try to steal.  We would not have held someone over a dozen eggs, they would have just been let go and told not to come back.

Would you have kept the ham?

Ugh, gross.  No way!  :lmao:

Our store changed its policy on wrangling shoplifters after a work buddy pinned one between a privacy fence and his F150.  I was riding shotgun.  The criminal didn't get away, though.  :-)
