Pennsylvania attorney general ordered to face perjury trial
NORRISTOWN, PA. | BY DAVID DEKOK
Pennsylvania's attorney general, accused of illegally leaking grand jury information to embarrass a political foe and then lying about it, was ordered on Monday to stand trial on perjury, obstruction of justice and other corruption charges.
Capping a five-hour preliminary hearing in a suburban Philadelphia courtroom, a judge ruled that prosecutors had presented sufficient evidence establishing a "prima facie" case against the state's top law enforcement officer, Kathleen Kane.
She was elected attorney general in 2012, becoming the first woman and first Democrat in the state to win the office since it ceased being an appointed post in 1980.
Kane, 49, who has remained free on her own recognizance, was ordered to stand trial in Montgomery County Common Pleas Court on a perjury charge, as well as three counts of obstruction of justice, four counts of official oppression and one count of false swearing.
No trial date has been set.

Seems that Ms. Kane is living up to form. It is a small fire right now and sinking fast. I just wanted to preserve it for future readers...

1. Great....ugh! My family fought like heck to finally get a
Democratic AG and Governor. Hope this goes away or we may not see another Democratic AG for another 40 years.
PA could only be so lucky...

I thought something like this was a resume enhancer for a democrat.

NORRISTOWN, Pa. -- The state's attorney general was convicted Monday of all nine counts in a perjury and obstruction case related to a grand jury leak.
Attorney General Kathleen Kane showed little emotion as jurors announced their verdict late Monday. The jurors agreed the first-term Democrat leaked information about a 2009 grand jury probe to embarrass a rival prosecutor.
After the conviction, Pennsylvania's governor renewed his call for Kane to resign. Democratic Gov. Tom Wolf called it a "sad day" for Pennsylvania, adding, "There should be no question" that Kane, a fellow Democrat, should resign immediately.
...
The leak grew out of Kane's feud with former office prosecutor Frank Fina, he said. According to trial testimony, Kane believed Fina had planted a story that showed she had dropped a statehouse sting.
"She was just hell-bent on getting back at Frank Fina," Morrow testified last week, describing Kane as "unhinged" at the time.
Given D pols' habit of brazening out scandals and legal problems, I wonder if Kane will have to be removed from office by state troopers.

Gov Wolf is publically trying to coax her out of office. Personally I hope she stays in as long as possible. However I think she will leave by the end of the week, in any event she has to vacate by sentencing day. Good day for PA.

I expected to see the words "with a set of forceps" at the end of your last sentence, instead of "by state troopers".
I dunno why.

I don't think she'd fit in any of Kermit's trophy-specimen bottles, BD. Otherwise ... maybe ...?

Rush mentioned that she has resigned.
